I'd second this for what you're asking about. I cast this one and tumble lube as cast with 45-45-10 and then load them over 5.0 grains of Clays. It's very accurate, could be shot all day long, and...

Because the FPS and the extractor are, or should be, fit together for everything to be lined up and tensioned properly. The two work together and are somewhat dependent on each other.

Yes. What you are thinking of is most certainly a bad idea. Reducing H110 too much can cause serious issues.

I have kept some .38 Special and .45 Auto CCI cases in case things really get bad but haven't loaded any yet. Figured they were free and I was bent over anyway. They could also be sold or traded as...

It's the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition.
Forum: Casting Equipment
No, there shouldn't be. Even the old #1, the predecessor of the Lyman 45, took the same style dies and continued to be the same through the 450 and the current 4500 lubesizer. All my H&I dies are...

Yes, it should drop in and be flush with the top of the base of the Lyman 45. There is a set screw in the front facing you that is then tightened into the groove around the die's body and just below...
Anyone loading the NOE 360-155-WC in .38 Special? I'll be loading for a GP100 and was kind of curious about what was working for others. I guess most folks probably seat this one just below flush...

That is within the range Starline lists for their brass. The specs given on their site are at 1.270"-1.280".

Very nice. I really need to step up my game.

I'd give it a shot. Mine drop just right at .358 as well and sizing them in a .358 just cleans them up a little here and there and lubes them. Been working great so far in several different 9's.
Forum: Cast Boolits
Without slugging the bore I would say so. You may possibly even find that .358 works better yet. I shoot that same bullet sized to .358 in all my 9mm's.
Bullshop, I've been meaning to order some of your Bullplate lube for a while now. When I click the link in your signature to your site I only get a message that the site is "not published." What is...

Very nice.....I wish I had that one to help feed the GP-100.
Sure thing Piedmont....I kind of expected to have to anyway. I'm certain I'm loading the Lee H&G 68 copy, 6 cavity mold#90310. I don't have any loaded rounds at 1.200" here, but do still have my...
35remington,
I've quoted the original post and yours. Not to be disrespectful to a senior member, however I think I'm one of the few who do actually understand what has been asked. Between all the...

Be sure and keep your shop/garage doors closed. A friend of mine just had a fawn get into his shop and try to hide under a workbench in the corner a couple nights ago. Made for an interesting...
Boy this one sure got derailed....
OP, have you got your SR1911 running good with the Lee H&G 68 copy yet? If not, I don't see how anyone gets this bullet to work at the longer lengths some have...

I've got one. It hasn't been used a bunch so far as most all of my brass is either loaded or at least prepped and ready to load this time of year. I have run it a couple cycles though, including an...
I use a Lyman "M" die. The expander plug is marked .38AP on the end and is the one that came included with my Lyman 4 die set. I hate to keep saying it because it just feels like tempting fate, but...

I shoot at Golden Valley some but in all honesty try and avoid it. I have a couple other good places that I don't have to deal with so much company. I still get over there though....it's too easy to...
If your XDs really came back post recall with a 10 lb. trigger I'd call SA and get a call tag sent out. That is WAY out of their own specs for the gun and they will make it right.
I took notes on...
That is correct....the "S" in XDs literally stands for slim. It is significantly thinner than it's XD and XDm counterparts. It comes in well under an inch in thickness....right at 7/8" thick IIRC....
