I sent some buckshot loads off to be tested as well several months ago. Mine was 12ga, 9 pellets of 00 buck.
I sent 3 loads. The 2nd load was half a grain more than the first, then the 3rd was half...
The ones I have measure .730-.731 using a set of basic digital calipers.
Thanks, I saved that picture. Sadly I do not have any fed hulls or any of those powders.
It sucks those SR powders are no longer made, as I see them in every load data for pretty much everything.
Sorry for the late reply, I have been really busy and have not had a chance to get on here in a while.
The ones I have, they weigh, on average around 470 grains. That is the slug, wad, and screw....
What load data are you using for those slugs?
I recently bought a bad of 100 chedite primed hulls and 100 brenneke slugs at a gun show and I would love to find some data to load them.
Mine do not...

Deleting a persons whole response because of one sentence is a little rude. Just delete the sentence and then send them a PM letting them know what you did and why, and you would most likely find out...

This is not a thread trying to sell them, never planed on it, I just wanted to know what they were as I had never seen anything like it.
The post you deleted was simply a response to the many...

Working on my lead melting pot for larger batches, I have acquired a old portable air tank that had a broke hose/vale assembly on it. I cut it open with a cutoff wheel and angle grinder. It is nice...
When I read through my lyman manual, it has a chapter about primers and showed two tests they did. They used the exact same load, with only the primer was the difference. They then listed the...
I just tried mine today and it was a complete fail.
I remember reading this thread about the temp.
I had my lee pot set to high, and I heated the mold up using the burner on my turkey fryer....

Thanks for the links. That is exactly what I had in mind. I have to set aside some time to read through them.

Thanks for the tips.
It would be mainly for larger batches of lead. Melting down scrap and making ingots. I will use my lee 110v pot when I do actual casting.
I have not committed to building...

That was my thought, simply try and find a old manual stove and just gut it for the controls and all.
I have heard of people replacing perfectly good stoves because they wanted one of the newer...

Thanks for the link. That is exactly what I was looking for. Something to keep in mind if I do not find any old stoves.
I was wanting this thread to be about electric options, not a "why not just...

With the issues I am having with my turkey fryer, and finding out yesterday my propane tank is expired and I will have to get re checked (no idea how much that will cost) before I can have it re...

I looked back at some pictures from the first time I used to to do some bluing and that was july of 2021. So long past any return window. Plus receipt is long gone.

Interesting.
I may try and remove that silver disc under the burner and see what happens. I will also try raising up the pot a little, if I can find a way to do it.

Ok, after I got home from work today, I took the burner off the stand and took it apart. Found nothing out of place and nothing clogged up.
I was inside my storage building and I hooked it up and...

I like that valve in the bottom of that pot! I may have to make something like that when I make a bigger pot for mine. Seems like that would so much easier than scooping it out one ladle at a time,...

What could be the issue? Too much gas, not enough? If I turn the knob up too high it blows itself out.
I just do not know enough about propane and regulators/burners to know what could be the issue...

I fooled around with it before making this thread. I completely removed the screws and I can rotate that disc 360 degrees and it makes no difference in the flames. If I just block it off with my...

Are you talking about the large silver metal disc on the underside of the burner?
Interesting idea on the weed burner. Are you using just that by itself as the sole source of heat?
