Would a scrap yard with an analyzer be an adequate way to determine the make up? Reason I ask is I also have other pieces to find out the make up.

I have been using this stuff since the early 90’s and can only say it came from a friend in the printing business. Before that I have no idea.

I guess considering the number of times these could have been melted and poured it’s a crap shoot as you point out. Thanks for your time.

Can someone give me the proper term for these letters? Is it monotype?

This can was full and sealed when I got it, Unique is now my favorite 45ACP powder with 200 and 230 FMJ. Do these cans have any value ? Although it’s not perfect maybe someone might like to include...

Anyone have an idea on when Hercules produced this style can?
If you use the Lyman 4 cavity often enough you can drop you gym membership. They make nice boolits too.
I’m glad to hear that doc, I ordered a mold from another maker and .358-.359” is the norm which is useless for me.
I ended up ordering the 356 125 RN with the hope that it will cast small enough for 9mm. .356-.357” is all I need.
That’s too bad, I was hoping it was just the way the pics were taken.
Thanks for the help.

He was probably bombarded with e-mails now that I see several here have contacted him as well. My guess is he is just sitting on it waiting for one of the many who contacted him to place a bid. When...

Oldracer, maybe before you take a ride, see if he will run a patch down the bore and send you the pic? If he sends a pic of a new patch you know what that means.
Just a thought.

That and not knowing the condition of the bore makes it a big **** shoot, I sent the person selling that rifle a message through GB and never got a response so that spoke volumes to me.

Also LEE says the top band dia. should be .517" for a 50. That's where mine shot best out of my 1-48". I also use a wad like rodwha, works well.

Thanks Maven,
I'm currently using a Lee .490 that's pretty close to .490" at the largest point on the ball. Problem is the balls are not round and the sprue hole in the top of the mold is starting...
Looking for folks with experience with either or both as I would like to get an iron mold to cast RB's with hopefully more consistency.

Thanks johnson, that sounds like a straight forward way to go about it. In my school of thought from many years of bedding actions the barrel needs to be free floated (center fire rifles), but with a...

Thanks bubba, that's the way I guessed but I've been wrong before.

I thought I was doing a good thing by relieving the barrel channel so I would not have to squeeze the barrel and stock together with one hand while inserting the wedge with the other. The rifle...
