Like the title says how does the hardness of a boolit affect it's accuracy? Would a boolit with a BHN of 5 shoot worse than one with a hardness of 12 or 13?
Do any of you have any load suggestions on loads for the universals?
I havs some of the universal from wal mart but I cannot find any data for them. I would lile to find som AA's for 20ga in bulk.
I am using winchester hulls that are once fired but I cannot find them for sale anywhere. Anyody know where I can find them for sale.
I want to use a .575 round ball in a 20ga with blue dot powder and a cheddite hull. I cannot find any load data for a regular slug load with this hull much less a roundball. I already have WAA20 wads...

Thanks for the input I was afraid that it would cause issues.

Yes 1 1/4 thick, they get it in 5X10 sheets and whatever gets scrapped is up for grabs. It goes for over $100 a sheet.

You ought to look at David Gingery's series of books, "Build your own metal working shop from scrap". He starts off with a foundry and casting al, it should help you get started.

I am at 5.0 grains of HP-38 started with 4.6 I can go up to 5.6. It seemed that anything past 5.0 was overkill but I can go back through it again just to see.

I am aiming at the dead center of the target and hitting very low right. I have some jacketed that I loaded that hit wherever the pistol is aimed. I wonder if 5.0 gr is too little of a charge?
Forum: Cast Boolits
Could this be a cause for poor grouping?

How much difference in weight can there be between two boolits cast from different alloys? Example, if I cast one boolit from wheel weights in a 200 gr mold and another from lead pipe in the same...
Do you remove the bolt each time or just put some close to it and let the lube work it's way in? DO you lube the whole sprue or just under the bolt?
How often do you guys lube the sprue on your Lee molds? Every use, every other use, or once a year?

Don't know about unique but yesterday I bought 1 lb of HP38 for $27.95 and 1000 WLP primers for $35.95.
