Th .379 expander screwed down more should work. Mdie/Expander=same. I’d get some calipers and start measuring the case as compared to the SAAMI chamber drawing and/or a cast of the chamber. I’d...

Make sure the case is not swollen due to mashing that big boolit down in it. If so, you’ll need a M-die/expander.

Same in the 32/20 revolver I have. Outpost is right. I experienced the same thing with my first loads. When you bell the mouth and use an expander for oversized lead boolits, the expander has to...
I just crimp enough to hold the bullet and close the bell…..
I guess I could use the crimp from the RCBS Cowboy dies and try that….

It hits as hard on the butt plate as the bullet!

Tabasco for hot sauce
Mateo’s Picante Sauce
I guess that’ll work, but for a bottleneck cartridge it could cause enough pressure to crumple the case, as my experience has shown. Also, I size bullets for a specific diameter and don’t want them...

Thanks for the info. I found another partial can and it was all grey. It was from 1996. Also, a friend with me noticed lots of smoke when I fired it. W231.

I just had Tom make me a mold. It was published to drop at 117gr using COWW. My mix is SOWW + some Hardball to add in SN. I end up around 1% SN 2.57% SB and 96.4% PB. In the ordering process,...

New discovery this week. I had run some test loads without chronographing, just seeing which load was more accurate. This was my first mistake. I usually chrony all test loads while shooting...
Just a brief note to remind you that when you reload cast bullets that are larger than jacket, you may have to use an M-die expander to stretch the case enough in order to not bulge the case, while...

I shoot AA2460 in my M1’s.
I know 4064 it is within burn rate, but I’ve heard some things about pressure. Even though 2520 was THE service rifle powder, I didn’t go that route either. Used...

On the way…..THANK YOU SIR.

Thanks Froggie.
I’ve read and read and read about the 32-20 here, every aspect. Reloading had some challenges, but I only crumpled one of the first five test rounds loaded! I learned You gotta go...

Got it too! I blocked the email, which was not directly from Muzzle-Loaders.com.

I use hardball with SOWW’s. Basically, 5.25lbs hardball to 7# SOWW’s. Give me 11.3 BHN and shows some expansion in soft berm. I get good fillout in the molds.
