I inherited a bunch of old reloading equipment (VERY OLD ) & some odd to me cartridges. Can you tell me what this round is? On the base of the round is a VI at the top, 18 on the left edge, 87 on the right edge. Some sort of flower on the bottom. At least that's what it looks like to me. Believe that and the clip are for the 1886 Mannlicher.

I wonder if that was the inspiration for the Garand end-block clip.

It's probably the royal crest for which ever country the ammo is from, either Austria or Hungary..

Hard to tell without accurate measurements. It has the Mauser A base and was loaded in 1887. If it's not 11 MM Mauser it will be something close to it.
