Just ordered 8 pounds of 700-X from Cabelas (Bass Pro) for $229 + tax. No shipping if you pick it up at your local store. I've never tried it, but heard good things about it (shoot lots of trap and use Clays).

That is an awesome price!!!! And, you will love this powder!! I have burned up a LOT of 700x back in the skeet and trap games!
Good for a lot of pistol loads too.
Great trap powder but dirty if the pressures aren't kept high.
Great powder for Cast bullets in rifle, pistol and shotgun.
Used a few hundred lbs in Trap & Skeet loads in the 1960's & 70's. It also works Great in .45Colt
My go to in 45acp, I also use it in 44spc.
yes a good powder for pistol and shotgun
Nice soft load for a 44 mag with the 240 gr cast. Or 45 ACP with 200 or 230gr cast.
Works well in 9MM when loading for 125gr lead cast bullets.
Take Care
Bob
Shot a lot of it 7 grains at a time under Keith boolits in .44 mag. Very clean burning.
700x was the first powder i ever reloaded with, a pound seemed to last forever with light loads under 32-30 bullets in a 30/40 Krag. That old Krag accounted for a lot of squirrels and rabbits when i was a teenager wandering around the woods.
Yep, when my son shot on a trap league for 6 years, I went through about 12 lbs. ( they used to sell 12 lb. Kegs until after 9/11) every 15 months. It still works for my sporting clays use plus 45 acp and cowboy loads in 45 colt, 44 magnum and 44 special.
I used it in some 327 federal loads with a 117gr NOE 315115 (4.6 gr @ 1188 fps)
One of my favorites for .45 ACP and .38 Spl. Push it just slightly hard, and it'll burn very cleanly.
