If I might ask a completely novice question (and if this isn't the place, please set me straight and (re)move this post), what are the major differences between this boolit/mold in .459 and the other group buy at <https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?359485-ACTIVE-MP-Mold-459-460-300gr-RNFP-with-HP-option>? The one in the other thread looks to be a bit longer/heavier and it has an option for a gas check. But to my untrained eye they look very similar.
I have a 45-70 NEF HandiRifle, am contemplating the future purchase of a lever gun in the same caliber, and I am looking to throw in with one of these two group buys. Any input to help educate a neophyte bullet caster/reloader would be appreciated!
I'm catching up on replys....
TimD is right, this mold is a proven design, has been made into molds many times. The other design is also good, I drew it up for the fella out of Germany who wanted better action on a rifle used in Europe often.
In any Marlin lever 45-70, you would not notice a difference. I'm not familiar with the Handi.
I'll take a brass .459, 4-cav, flat base, HP

Can anyone say if this s would be a good one for 45-90 running BP out of an original 1886 first year production?
Please put me down for one 4 cav fb hp brass in .459, plus handles please.
