Eastwood powder coat question
Hi guys. I've just started down the powder coating rabbit hole. I bought 2 types. One was from Princess Auto (Canada's answer to Harbor Freight) and 1 Eastwood powder that was one of the most expensive ones my local tool store had. The stuff from Princess Auto worked absolutely amazing. Super easy to get it to stick. The Eastwood stuff on the other hand is just not working. Yes, I've tried preheating to various temperatures, adding airsoft BBs. I thought I'd try my vibratory tumbler, but that didn't work either. The container I'm using is the exact same container that I applied the Princess Auto stuff in and the Princess stuff went on like a dream with 20 seconds of shaking and no BBs. This particular Eastwood powder just doesn't stick, and that's that. The product number is 10098LB. It's a polyester TGIC powder.
So why not just buy the stuff from Princess Auto you ask. If I'd gotten into this 2 months ago I would. Fate would have it that they have decided to stop carrying it, and there's no replacement coming in. They're out of the powder coat business and there's nothing left in my city. Most other stores in other cities are completely sold out as well.
So that leaves me with local access to Eastwood powders only. Just so I don't go and buy another pound of something that's useless, could you guys please have a look at the actual product code/number on the stuff you're using, and you know works, and let me know what it is. :) It's the number on the label that's at the bottom left corner of the barcode. Thanks guys.
