Morels and chanterelle in Alaska, who knew.
I think the shaggy mane and the king bolete are the tasties of all mushrooms, way better than a morel.

I slice and dry these, then boil them down with Chaga, and turkey tails to a strong liquid I mix with my morning coffee..

We are headed out tomorrow for our first mushroom hunting trip of the season . There was finally enough rain (2.5") two days ago to maybe bring some up in the area where we are going. Usually we pick chanterelles, russulas, lobster, and a few others but last year my wife brought one home to identify without telling me. It was a queen bolete! We will be going back there tomorrow for sure. I never have figured out how fast wild mushrooms grow after the first rain, however.
Two days later - Everything was wet from the first big storm but no mushrooms up yet.
Our first good rain storm of the season should make them pop up here.
I am going to give them a few days then head up to my favorite Chanterelles patch.
