375 Win. XTR
Wow! I finally received my 375 brass from Starline today, & tried a few loads watching for pressure. AA-2015 Per factory email quotes 32.0 grains. The throat on this rifle is deep, & will take std. 38-55 brass no problem. Using the LEE 379-250 boolit PC'd & sized .378 I started a trial of 3 shot groups @ 31 grains of WC-846 (seems to be identical to AA-2015 burn rate with several different calibers I've tried) 31 gr gave me a 2 1/2 spread No pressure problems. Went up to 31.5 grs & wow four rounds @ 2-shot intervals trying to keep a cool bore. I got a .942 group with 3 touching tight & 1 slightly outside left. I know it's only 4-shots but I'm using a bevel based bullet @ about 1850 fps.Powder coated no check. Ran out of prepped brass & daylight, but called time out with hopeful thoughts for tomorrow. Sure wish Jess would get that 5-groove 38-55 completed. Hunt'n seasons comm'in.

Nice! My .375 Win. brass from Starline is supposed to be getting here tomorrow. Looking forward to experimenting with some loads!

I've been working with my Dad's 375 XTR , I slugged the throat and I had .377 and sizing the the same boolit .379 . The other week I had about a 5" group @ 100 yd using 29gr of RL7 . I shot 5 more at 30gr it went south quick . I've got some more loaded starting @ 27.5 and up in 1/2 gr increments. Hope to get to the range soon . Guys good luck with those 375s

The one I got from Dad is first year production / top eject and it's wearing a Williams receiver sight .

Good boolit, I use the same one in my Jes rebored Marlin and the accuracy is very good.

I've found that AA-2015 & this batch of WC-846 is great for full house loads, usually find a their sweet spot at full charge or just under. They are not real versatile to reduced charges like some other powders.

I was told to compare WC846 to BL C-2 but that was 20 years ago.

When I purchased this WC-846 powder I was told to use BLC-2 Starting charge minus 10%. then work up. I use it in 223,243,30-30,30-06,308,&358, with almost exact charge weights as AA-2015. Bought the last 2015 that Wideners had when they quit selling powder.

Absolutely love this caliber and gun it should be fun fine tuning it for hunting and shooting.

I have a few thumpers, the 375 model 94 XTR is the latest trade. It is the first model 94 I have ever owned, normally avoid them like the plague, buy a Marlin, side eject instead. But this big big bore spoke to me. So can no longer say, I never.
I have the dies, brass, 270 grain J bullets and the 250 grain plain base, flat point bullet for PC.

I bought mine to treat as a 38-55 WCF +P if the need arises, these are some of Winchesters best rifles of the era. I like 20 grs. of IMR 4759, 250 gr. G/C bullet Ben’s Red lube . I bought 7 lbs of 4759 before it discontinued ,it’s enough to feed the rifle for a long time.

For my hunting load in my Marlin 336 CB 38-55/ Redfield 1 3/4-5X Widefield:
38-55 cases , 28 gr Re7/ Lyman 375449, 265 gr GC or the lyman 379248,255PB/0.060LDPE wad.
Often Clover leafs at 100yds.
Load also shoots well in my 375Win Contender Carbine
