from my Daughter.
this should work pretty good as a 'Range' pistol cleaning kit.
Any idea what the two items are, that I have pulled out of the kit, shown on the edge of the carry rug ? The black/blue piece is threaded on the end not shown, to fit the handle or the rods...and it appears to be cracked on one side. The other piece that looks like a short stripper clip, does have a mirror finish on one side...maybe for bore inpection ?

Just so happen to have these out to stop at the range after visiting. The 22/45 is the wife's with a Bushnell TRS-25 and I get the Mark III with a Simmons 2-6 Prohunter.
I have no idea how to rotate the pic, wonder how you do that,,,,,,,
Here's what I got:
Did you see it? No? That's OK I didn't see it either because I none of the gifts I received had nothing to do with this topic. :-( However, I am grateful for what I did get because they'll help me stay healthy :-)
The piece that is split, with a tapered end, could it be a chamber jag, maybe? slip a patch in the slit to clean out the chamber?

I was kinda thinking it could be used as a chamber cleaning tool, just put a large patch in the slot and use it like a Jag for the chamber...judging by the size of this tool, it'd probably only work for 50BMG...or maybe the cylinder of my 500 S&W Mag ;)
Whether it is correct or not, way back when I was much younger and had to have a tacticool gun because it was "tacticool" my FNC came with that same peice and was shown clipped into the flash suppressor with the polished side facing the butt. The scope's cross hairs could then be set up square to the bore with out using a level.
I don't have a picture of the gift the Mrs. gave me, as I have to wait for delivery. However, one of the incredible members here was kind enough to gift me with:

"Collectors Powder Canisters" for Christmas presents?
HV
Look full and never opened I would say.
Wish I had a full (or half-full) can of 2400 :???:
.222 Rem Mag.
I have a Contender barrel I am going to send out and have rechambered. It is .222 Rem right now, but, the head space is way off. Since .204 Ruger brass resizes very easily, that is the route I am taking.
Collector? Maybe, I'll definitely set them on a shelf in the reloading room. ....once I load all the powder in them that is.
Yep, they be full.
There's three in the picture and I have more. I've never used 2400....until now.
Dean: I have a identical can of HS-5, except, mine is almost empty. Use to be my go to powder for Hornady 115 JHP's in my 9mm Browning HP. This was long before I discovered boolets.
Winelover
After 15 years of ladle casting, I got a bottom pour pot for Christmas. So far I'm really enjoying it. I did make a bracket out of sheet metal to hold my thermometer and a dollar store mini cast iron pan to catch drips.

1971 Marlin 444 from my father in law.
I suppose I should buy an appropriate RD mould.
And yes, that is a sweet floor in my loading room. That was my wife's idea, she even helped put it in and get rid of the old carpeting.
That rifle has some friends. It lives with a 30-30, 45-70, 32-20, 357, and 45 Colt. Marlin is well represented here.
Btroj, I am jealous. I am still looking for a 444.
JonB, that is a chamber cleaning tool for the Swiss Sturmgewehr 57. A patch made of metal screen material was secured in the slot and wrapped around the body, then pressed into the chamber and rotated, sort of the same idea as a Lewis lead remover. Similar tools were used for earlier Swiss rifles also but I think they've been deemed unnecessary for the newer Sturmgewehr 90 series. If you're unfamiliar, the 57 is a fluted chamber, roller locked delayed blowback similar in operation to an H&K G3 or 91 series gun. They can get pretty sooty in use.
The shiny guy is indeed a bore inspection mirror.
Those black tubes are likely still partially full of Automattenfett (grease for automatic weapons) which is used to clean, lube, and protect the whole rifle. Messy but good!
Santa gave me what I wished for, a HF powder coat gun and red powder. Having a blast after getting more colors. Please excuse the pic quality. Attachment 92851
Gotta believe in Santa to keep receiving. Slim
Dang Brad, all that and no .35?
Gear
No 35 Remington or 375 Winchester. Those two, and a 25-20, are on the need to get list. A 44 mag I just don't need or want.
My dad asked a few years a go if I was ever going to hunt with something other than a lever action. He just doesn't understand.
That was thoughtful of your daughter, you'll have to take her shooting ! :Fire:

My new .45 Colt Santa left for me. It will never see a factory round if I can help it. So far, I've been feeding it a diet of NOE 454424 SWCs on top of 12.5 grains of BlueDot with some Lee 452-200RF on top of 8 grains of W231. Will start experimenting with 2400 loads soon.
Oh, that's a sweet stash of old powders, molds, primers etc! Love it.
Like that bracket for the Lee pot! I'm gonna make one of them.
From my son and daughter-in-law...

Attachment 93727 This replaced the old one that I shot the screens (5 rounds) thats another story. [smilie=1:
Attachment 93728 There are 2 other mag loaders in the mail. No picture but also 8# keg of Red Dot.:Fire:
My other son also came thru with this incl. the mounts.
