A fine job explaining some of the basics and lots of help refreshing some tidbits that some of us may have forgot.

Fun read. Thanks.
Good info for me !!! Thanks..
For me, Goatlips site put it all together. I could see one version of how it all should look and I now use mostly his way to do the job.
When I was first trying to get started, Goatlips was kind enough to give me some advice and his site was very helpful. Hats off to Goatlips.

Goatlips, funny name but great info. Thanks for posting, SG
Great site thanks for the sticky
Many thanks from a noob.
Clalssic example of picture is worth a thousand words. But the words sure made the pictures make sense. Thanks alot.
Thanks for posting, the pic's helped me visualize everything better.
Great Post

The link doesn't work anymore. Why is this still a sticky?
(I apologize in advance if everybody else's computer pulls it right up.)
Looks like the domain has expired... :(
You can still get to it this, but no pics: http://web.archive.org/web/201002050...com/index.html . Good way to get dead links if just the text will help.
That is a dern shame. Goatlips had done a fine job with this site. Change mostly sucks, ever notice that??

Well, I just took the advice that has been repeated over and over and over and decided to read all the stickies that I could. I'm finding quite a few that are old and busted but still floating. I guess I'm not the only one who never reads 'em eh?:kidding:
What I generally do now is print to PDF if there is info I really want. I used to save to favourites but if the site moves or is shut down then the information is lost.
By printing to PDF you get a copy for future reference. Some print well and some don't but there is almost always some way to save the info you want.
The Goatlips site had some good info for sure. It is a shame it has been lost.

Longbow;
I started doing the same thing a couple of years ago when several sites were lost to me. I use the free Utility "PDF Creator" as it works extremely well.
Unfortunately, I had failed to print anything from Goatlips site...

Wiljen, just wanted to update the address of my Blackpowder site that you complimented so generously; it is now
http://goatlips.hrillc.com/goatlipst...com/index.html
Thanks. Goat
Thanks, changed to
http://goatlips.hrillc.com/goatlipst...com/index.html
Hope you still like it

I enjoyed reading your site, very informative, thank you. I could not get any of the links to open, however.
Charlie
Good site, great job of explaining the process.
I have gotten a '404 error' on this site for the last couple of months. Any word on this?
"Page Not Found".
FYI Ironhat & Jammersix; Posts #19 & 20 from Goatlips himself references the new, correct URL for the page:
http://goatlips.hrillc.com/goatlipst...com/index.html
Thanks, BB. I would hate to see all of that info vanish into the ethers!
http://goatlips.hrillc.com/goatlipst...com/index.html
Is there a way that the currently correct web site address could be edited in to post No. 1. This information is so valuable that it should not be hard to find.
Thanks to Goatlips-great job on the pictures.
Bill
Yes, Bill, that's what I was trying to say without stepping on any toes. I have a hard time believing that someone would read 20 posts in order to hopefully find a post. I don't know about you but, I get time of mining threads only to find out that there's nothing there! Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully, they will follow it.
Later,
Chiz
Any word on the proper URL for this resource? It's helped me more than once over the years, I'd hate to lose it.
still the links are dead??
Still no go.
I had the same problem, then I noticed the date of the post.
