WOW very impressive!!
I can't keep up with JMorris, but I am building an auto annealer using one of his blades.
Also built a rotary tumbler, drying rack for the brass after it comes out of the rotary tumbler, auto drive for the1050.
I will post pics when I figure out how and have the time.
wow, you guys put me to shame, I made a homemade tumbler by putting corn cob media and brass in a coffee can and put it in my truck for about a week
Jmorris, after being constantly chided by others for their view that I go overboard with the things I like, I LOVE it when I find a person who makes me look like a complete slacker!
A case feeder for a Square Deal??? Was this for a bet? Why not one for an original Lee Loader?
Sort of, there were a couple of guys talking about how they would do it on another forum and were going to post CAD drawings when they got a chance. I think some one decided it couldn't be done, so I did it one afternoon.Quote:

Speechless and most humble! I wish I lived next door
ANeat , is that a treadmill motor on the tumbler ?
No its actually a auger motor out of a machining center. It normally has a 12ft steel "corckscrew" hanging off of it to pull metal chips out of the machine.
Anyway, the keyway got "wallered" out so it had to be replaced. The gearbox and motor were still fine so I claimed it.
Ive probably been using it about 10 years now.
I think a treadmill motor would work great if you had a support for the front end of whatever container you were using.
Those are some amazing tools and equipment.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for info ! Something to think about .
Whow! There is a lot of talent here. Very humbling. Thanks
I made a gas check trimmer sometime ago. Needed it to square up my checks.
Boy,I'm just happy to cut a screwdriver slot in a bolt with a hacksaw.
JMorris,
When do you find time to shoot?

It doesn't take that long if your just shooting so you have empty brass to load.
Tumbler is crude but made it from a plan in the American rifleman magazine in the 1970's. Pulleys are from a 1960's or 70's clothes dryer, motor is a junked furnace blower motor, drum is made of plywood. It's still going 30+ years now.

Not much, but it sure makes this job cleaner:

Oh, and if you haven't seen it yet, there's a really neat thread similar to this over at THR:

Here are the tools I use to reload Berdan brass. I enlarge one flash hole from the inside with the drill bit then use the homemade LEE type punch to tap out the old primer, I then use the modified chamfer tool to remove the primer crimp. I have had no problems with the slightly larger flash hole and used a Dremel tool to open a small hole in the nose of the chamfer tool to clear the anvil in the primer pocket of the Berdan brass. I resize with a standard die with the decapper pin removed and the sizer button raised to not hit the inside of the brass.
Simple, homemade and works for me.

Then being the tight wad that I am I don't like to throw away anything that might still have a use. I took an old easy reach back massager and cut the handle down and removed the big rubber donut from the end and it fit in the bottom of my small Lyman bowl, I clamped it in a split 2"x4" and "Wha-la" a new tumbler.
I just took 100 or so .45 acp brass out of it and they look great, of course I forgot and they were in there four hours.

I made an inline countdown timer for my tumbler. I used a 2 gang DEEP outdoor rated box, a countdown timer a GFCI outlet proper cord grip (NOT a romex connector) and a 12Ga. Ext. cord.
I usually put the tumbler in the garage or somewhere away from where I am, set the timer and walk away from the noise.
Looks like jmorris has created a perfect Catch-22. The more streamlined the reloading process, the more time to shoot. The bar has been raised very high.
Gee. And I thought i was being innovative when in made a powder dipper out of a cut off 06 case and an old screwdriver.

Wow.
You guys are really talented.
Made these awhile back. Working on more dies.
Man!! I have to get off my woodlathe, you guys are great!
