nice how does that little guy shoot
Not a great pic but the only one I have right now, I built the stock from a piece of walnut I salvaged from a chunk that I got from a guy who was cutting up a large walnut tree for firewood!

Super 14 45/70
Nice looking TCs there.
.22 LR Match, Marten's taco front and Williams FP rear. It's wearing my favorite ol' TC stocks. Used a bunch more than any of my Contender setups. It shoots far better than I do.

Here is mine with 300 Whisper barrel (1/10 twist). I dislike the Burris scope...not enough eye relief. I am looking for a rifle stock, but this may make gun illegal (barrel too short to mount rifle stock)
Funny you mention that being illegal. I keep thinking I need to send in a check and some paperwork into ATF, and then find a stock to use with my 10" barrels.
This is the gun I use when I have to hunt at long range. A Super 14 in 7-30 Waters topped with a 4-12 x 32 Handgun scope with Balistic Plex reticule. I use 120gr Nosler Balistictip Bullets @ 2360 fps Zeroed @ 175yards. Sillouete pigs @ 600 are no problem with this machine!
Sorry okes I cannot get the pictures to be any bigger...

Here are some of mine
Encore rifle is a 300 whisper custom shop 20" full bull. Wood is Virgin Valley with a extra 3" wide forearm for bench work
Encore pistol is a Virgin Valley 6mm 15 3/4" with 1-14 twist tight neck Shilen select bbl. Has Virgin Valley wood with ebony caps. This is the most accurate gun I have ever owned.
There is also a Virgin Valley 221 FB stainless 10" Shilen SS airgauged bbl with this set.
Contender is 300/221 rimmed. Made from 357 max brass. I bought it to shot IHMSA but moved and never did (that was 15 years ago)

Here's the only one I have or have ever had, got it in a package deal off an auction site last year along with a collector Ruger 3 Screw 45 Colt. It's in 45 Colt/410 and I guess from reading the threads, it's a Type 1, was told here on the forum that's it's a 1969 gun, serial # in the 10XXX range. Don't think it was ever fired with the 45 barrel and I have a 256 Winchester Mag barrel for it (which is on it in the picture) but have never shot it yet. Have had it up for sale at a couple of local gun shows but no takers yet, so one of these days maybe I'll get to shoot it, but only with the 256 barrel.

All right!!! Where did you guys get some of those beautiful wood stocks made. I have a dozen or more exhibition grade quilt maple blanks from my own tree in my barn aged to perfection waiting to be turned into a Contender Carbine stock???
I'll throw in mine with some of it's barrels - from several years ago when I thought I was done buying barrels...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...isc/th_932.jpg
Bullberry--and other stockmakers--will work with customers' wood. Just ask. The price is often the same as their "utility" grade stocks. You do take some risk though, cuz you don't know what's lurking inside a block of wood: knots, stains, bark inclusions, bugs... But there IS a bit of a brag factor in a stock from your own wood.
I just got this 12" Bullberry Encore in 445 SM. The brake screws off.
I intend my main load to be with the CP 300 gr. WFNGC or the LaserCast 310 gr. version
The forearm looks a little cut off because it is to allow me to mount a Magnetospeed to the barrel.
I would like to add a 20" 444 barrel and rifle stocks next.

this is my first one
a 1975 model with octagonal .357 mag and a 14"bull .22 match bbl.
i am looking for a 30-30 bbl now
(and a bench forend)
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...s/IMG_0406.jpg
ok
after much thought and counting of pennies
i am going with a MGM 15 .75 " 30-30 bull bbl
and a benchrest forend from tony.
it is a lot of money to me but
if i am going to put any money into it i might as well do it right.
Is there a reason for 15.75 instead of something like 16.25. Over 16 you can use a rifle buttstock. Love those little carbines.
+1 on that! That .204 Ruger chambered Contender I posted a couple of pages back has become one of my favorite rifles, I have several heavy caliber rifles and decided I needed a good varmint gun so my Contender became a carbine. I have only a 357 Herrett barrel (10") for use as a pistol but since buying that barrel and making the stock/forearm I have never put the 10" barrel back on, it just FEELS right and I'm having too much fun terrorizing the crows around my place!:bigsmyl2:

.357 and .44 barrels that have my attention at the moment,,,
Once a pistol always a pistol. You can put a rifle stock and barrel on it and the frame is still a pistol. BUT, TECHNICALLY, if it started life as a rifle, it can't be used as a pistol. The way that the frame is determined is how it was first sold. If you bought it new as a pistol it's a pistol. If you bought it as a rifle, it's a rifle. When you buy a bare frame, it's transfered as a pistol.
You can shoot a pistol with a 16" barrel. You can NOT shoot a rifle with a barrel less than 16" unless the frame is registered as a short barrel rifle.
My .14 Squirrel stainless G2 with 12" fluted barrel and full length laminate furniture. And no, it hasn't seen any cast boolits.... yet.....

Doc Stihl said it correctly, there is no restriction on barrel length for a pistol so you can shoot with a 24" barrel if you choose to as long as it was registered as a pistol. If it was registered as a pistol and you put a rifle butt stock on it you better have a barrel that is at least 16" long to comply with the law. I have a 16-1/8" barrel I can shoot either way.
Glad to see I'm not the only sub caliber crazy around here. My .14 Ackley Hornet Encore barrel should be ready in a few weeks. After that's done I will work on getting a barrel for my .14 flea gear.
I'll see if I can find pics of my brothers 375 H&H Pistol assembled. 16.25" with a 360 degree brake installed by Gary Reeder.
