Nooo! Throw away the manual (Luke), the best never come from a recipe....Let the force guide you....Quote:
Yes, you can get some cookies. Simply buy the manual.
You guys can't fool me.
Since when were cookies anything other than a little text file put into a folder when you browse to a website that tracks your activity and stores your user logon.
What is this silliness that they are something you can cook in an oven and eat.
So, I've decided to stay on topic with the cookie discussion
I thought there might be a cookie cooking forum, and if there were...
Were they having similar issues to ones going on here on this forum.
It cracked me up when I got there and found them using the same PHP BB backend and graphics
A quick scan thru the posts and I quickly recognized a topic that get continuously rehashed in the reloading discussions (especially benchrest)

Cabin Fever has set in at Cast Boolits. Get out the vaccine. Only real solution is to burn some powder & toss lead down range. Btroj - I'd one-up you but it's all gone. I ate them all. I'm a happy camper - er, boolateer. Full too. Got my DL renewed last week, went from 194 to 200. Darn, got to put the puppy on a diet next week, she's getting plump.
Looks like it's going to be a Looooooong winter!!!
Run, none of these cookies were hard or crunchy. I like softer, chewer cookies. Stop by, I'll give you a few and a beer to wash em down.
What's the secret to soft cookies? Mine always end up crunchy after they cool off.
My solution has been to eat them all before they cool, but I imagine there's a better way...
If it says 8 to 10 minutes we start checking at 7. Over cooking makes for dry cookies. Like meat they keep cooking after being removed from the oven.
It also pays to pick recipes for cookies that tend towards being soft and chewy. Oatmeal and chocolate chip are good examples.
Man, I sound like a chick!
Man, I sound like a chick!
I baked an apple pie, once. Got the recipe from a Betty Crocker manual, not the Internet, so I felt safe, knowing that there wouldn't be a kaboom in the oven. I used one less apple than the maximum listed, but will go with the maximum number if I ever bake another.
By the way, the manual said to apply a pinch crimp around the edges of the dough, and it worked perfectly.
Am I the only one that noticed the copy of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook on the table next to the tape measure?

I use the butter for the chick but that is an entirely different discussion.......
Not much to add on the baking. I'm just here to add some manliness back to the thread...
Wow, three posts at the same time. I can't keep up!
