Beautiful old shotgun, Kev18. I enjoyed your video as well.

My latest is a German Schuetzen Martini single shot target rifle in 8.15x46R made by "H. Speeman in Neuss" ... we're taking it to the range to test fire it tomorrow!

Super nice rifle, Rev. Bet it will shoot as good as it looks!
Reverend AL, you sure do find a lot of super nice classic rifles there. You are a lucky guy.
Rev, I like all Martini rifles, but I am a lefty and probably couldn't shoot your new rifle.
I have never seen one with the under lever that latches the cocking lever.
Very Nice !

I haven't been brave enough to try to take it apart yet, but I assume that the lever under the forend unlatches the barrel assembly for removal while the lever behind the trigger guard unlocks the trigger group and breech block. I've sent a message to a fellow who has a similar rifle on the same take down action asking for directions on how to take it apart properly without doing any damage to anything.
Yes, I've been very lucky and have managed to put together a fairly varied collection of single shot rifles in some interesting calibres. There are a few more yet to come from a gentleman who is currently down-sizing his single shot collection. As my old hunting partner and best friend used to say: "Lots is good, more is better, and too much is ALMOST enough ..."
Took it out today for the first time with some ammo supplied by the previous owner and shot it at 100 yards. All of the low shots and fliers off to the right of the main group are all my fault because they were "Oh ****!" shots. This rifle has the lightest set triggers of any rifle I've every had and I think it will be the first time that I'll have ever had to adjust set triggers so the front trigger is heavier than when I received it rather than lighter!

SWEET!! Keep those reports and pictures coming!!!
Did it again yesterday. I bought my seventh Maynard on an online auction. A model 1882 in .25-20 Single Shot this time. I'll post some photos when it arrives and I have it in hand.
It never ends ...
Stopped in at C. Sharps this last week and ended up leaving with a receipt for the deposit on an 1885 Highwall 45-70. The folks there were great. Got a quick tour of the facilities and the best part was being able to pick out the wood for the build. Six to Eight month build time but it will be worth the wait.
Picked up my first contender over the weekend. It's a 1990 model so it's a year younger than me. I'm thinking 41 mag and 218 bee would be fun.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...86a8b5948b.jpg

Ruger #1 in 257 Roberts ackley improved. It’s topped with an old weaver k6 with fine target crosshairs. Brass and dies came with as well. Should be good for a few whistle pigs.
Mere months after selling my .32acp dies, this shows up.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c4769010c0.jpg

The old paper clung to the backing - those are not keyholes[emoji16]-I like it.
Ruger Super Blackhawk.
Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull bought early March. Did have an extractor that had a death grip on one cartridge but 600 grit and some time worked that out perfectly.
The new to me Maynard rifle finally arrived in today's mail. .25-20 Single Shot with a good bore, 1-15" twist, mis-matching barrel to the receiver that has been refinished, but I bought it as a "shooter" so I'm happy with it so far. Refinished tang sight that looks proper for the gun with a combination front sight. Now I need to get some ammo together and shoot it. Will be shortening some .25-25 Stevens that I bought in an auction down to 1.63" to turn it into .25-20 Single Shot shooter brass ...

Attachment 239106Wandered into a military collectibles shop that I pass on my way to the fiances office. I had been looking for another pocket pistol after she started carrying my LCP Custom in her purse. They had a North American Arms Guardian in 32ACP in the case. It was dirty for sure but was in good shape and had two mags, a box of ammo, and a cheap Uncle Mikes OWB holster. $275 out the door, wrote me up a ticket saying $179 plus tax to slide it past the little lady easier. They know their customer.
