Very Impressive! I added your name to the list Algun. Glad to see people are out shooting.
Only got till the end of the month guys!
Good shooting and swage on!

When does this end again? I'm having a brain fart and can't seem to find the end date.
End March 31. 2014
A little snow don't hurt..HA, HA. I'll get a target in one way or another also! There is 55 gal trash barrel (not in the pic.) just to the right and the snow totally encapsulated it! Good shootin' and keep the shovel close!

Snow that deep allows us to not need and shooting bags. You can make a nice rest out of the snow!
I'm ready to get out and shoot but Mother Nature isn't cooperating!
I realize it has been a heck of a winter for many this year. I'll entertain suggestions and comments as to whether we should extend the deadline of the shoot. Current deadline is March 31st.

I'm good with an extra month.
I think at the most 1 month is a possibility or "tax day" on the 15th? Surly there has to be at least one good shooting day anywhere in the country in the next 4 weeks or possibly 8 weeks at the most if we choose to extend the shoot.
Don't hold up the shoot on my account. The way it seems, we won't see spring till may this year anyways. I'll get bullets on paper one way or another. The only thing I wonder is do I get extra points for every degree below zero and every foot of snow??
Although extending the deadline is an attractive suggestion, I think a 3 month window is plenty. If you push things out too far, it can make the early entrants feel cheated.
I think a better alternative would be talking some of the prize donors into using their donations for a "Spring Postal Shoot". (Say, April 1st to June 30 -- or even just a 45-60 day window.) It gives all shooters some different weather to work with, and lets the guys less-than-stellar winter shooting locations have a chance to get out in at least the mud and rain. (Or after their fair weather ranges/clubs open back up.)
Spring time is when most of us are rearing to go, anyway.
I am going to post a target in the original time, need to get this over, and start load devolpment with commericial jackets and shooting for the comming season.
So far my rimfire jacket loads are not good enough to justify entry fees to shoot 400-1200 yards at 2 minute targets.
I used Corbin dies and "S" Press for these bullets. I still have the dies, but no longer have a press. :(
But it was the process that I learnt from a bulletsmith, Cluade, in France that made the difference in my bullets. I was able to pick his brain on how he did things when he builds his for competition. 10 shots under 1/2 minute with open sights at 100m/109yds. Mine were running 1-1 1/2 minutes no matter what I did till he corrected a few things.
Living here in the wind surfing capital of the US I consider any day the wind isn't blowing a good day for shooting. That being said I feel the greatest challenge for me to get a good group for the postal shoot isn't the temp or the amount of snow or even the rain here in the NW but that darn wind! I do think the 3 month time period for this postal shoot should allow for everyone to submit a target in plenty of time with the chance for a good day of shooting. I'm still up for comments, yet at this time the March 31st deadline still stands. I'll certainly take considerations into account for next years shoot.
Again great shooting Algun! We'll look forward to those "few things" of correct that equal small groups on paper :)
Look forward to seeing more target pics. I got some 22-250, 223rem and 6mmBR rounds loaded up just waiting for a calm day and may actually have some .204 rounds ready in time too.
Lots of great prizes this year guys. Got to send in a target to be eligible though. Get out and do some shooting and be sure to have some fun while your at it :guntootsmiley:
Good shooting and swage on!

I wish i had found this early
We have nice hot and dry weather over here
but i don't have any swaged bullets
oh well hopefully next year
Keep the original deadline. I knew weather would be a factor when I joined!
