I could be wrong but isn't silicone a polymer too? I would think it would fit here just fine.

Got a chance to shoot my 70 grain NOE bullets lubed with hi-tek. Cast out of type metal I purchased at a junk yard. Used an aluminum gas check that I made with my free chex tool. They weigh 69 grains with coating and check. I used 21.0 grains of wc844. I am happy! No powder residue or leading. Did not bench them, shot it prone monopoding off of the mag. Rifle is equipped with a red dot with zero magnification. Ten shot group, 50 yards. Not going to win any bench rest competitions, but will work great at local 3-gun matches. Hits steel plates with authority too!Attachment 74486Attachment 74485
I pulled out my bolt carrier group to see how much crud has built up. I have not kept an exact round count, but it is over 350 and possibly 500 rounds of hi-tek coated cast bullets since I last cleaned it. It is still running fine!
This is the one I used http://www.ebay.com/itm/261005344200...84.m1439.l2649
I'm pretty sure it is the the same as Forrest stove Bright. 1 Lb will coat a lot of lead. I cure fore 25min@ 450 giving the lead 5 min to come up to temp and 20 min to cure.Attachment 74508
This is with 2 coats. If I was a betting man i would would give odds this is the product that a lot of commercial coaters use.
I forgot to mention. I use the Piglet Method ,the first coat covers the bullet completely. The second coat is really in case I missed any spots.I don't use any elaborate grating, just aluminum pan that I got at goodwill that fits the Toaster oven. The oven is a Black and Decker(4 Bucks at goodwill)I have an Oster backup(4 Bucks at goodwill) The B&D is big enough to do about 800 9mm at a time. the two put out 1200 at a time.If you happen to Find a B&D they are good, they have a an infrared element ,heats quickly.

I cool them quickly using a shop Vac
Frank, is this a fairly stanky process?!? Acetone all by itself makes plenty of malodorous vapours wafting about. My wife already thinks I'm a pretty efficient stench generator.
I'm planning to do my boolit coating outdoors when possible, but then my toaster oven will come right back inside.
It's Bronze. the florescent lights and the camera are not that good. This stuff really covers well!
Whizzer, I do it in my detached barn with one of the doors open. It's STANKY,but not to bad.
closer 4 to 1 Acetone
I'm only using 2 to 1, why so much?

You only need two coats with the silicone PC,the curing/baking is minimal stanky.
sorry the silicone is 4 acetone/1 pc
