Loaded and tested 3 16 gauge 1 1/8 oz loads with Blue Dot.
Nothing. All I did was a picknick with my wife and join gun loads as a member. After two years here I didn’t know it is an option. Finished up loading 556 yesterday with enough for some months hopefully. 1000 I think 55s and 75s. At least now I think I can get back to it and remember how. Tactical Rifle one training Saturday all day. First of three offered here. Been looking forward to that. My first AR.
I loaded 200 45 Colt Cowboy loads….. 200 grain SWC (sized and lubed with White Label blue) on top of 6.0 grains of Red-dot. I also processed a few hundred 22 TCM casings to load this weekend.
Cast 6.5kilos of MM-molds "9 or 38-147 RN BB" and "MP 356-125 2R"
Acted like a fool is what. I thought I was running a 9mm case in a .380 die to swage the end down for my shot capsule loads.
The case went in the die then got stuck and the shell holder popped off the case head. I hammered the .380 holder over it and pried the case out, put another in and stuck it. Repeated the above and got it out.
I then realized I had a .38spl shellholder in there from working with .38 cases the day before--duh! Put the 9mm holder in and ran a case in it which came out sized down for the whole length completely NOT like what it had been doing. What is happening?!?!
Then I realized I has a .300blk die in there. I had been trying to size the neck down on .38 cases to squeeze a shot capsule. Figured it out and put the .380 die back in the press and walked away.
Sometimes you are the bowling ball, sometimes you are the pins. Gotta know when to walk out of the bowling alley.
I was running low on 38 bullets so I casted a couple of thousand RCBS 180's.
Not in the loading room but the garage. Sorted a partial bucket of wheelweights.
Trimmed and chamfered over 600 cases of 5.7x28 and USPS delivered 36gr mold. I have some 40gr Hornadys but want to try PC as well. Figured 36 gr powder coated will be close to 40 as well.
Loaded up another batch of .308's with 165 XCB's. Barely made a dent in my stash.
I attended a training and tactics course for the AR 15 yesterday. I burn through 300 rounds or more with no hiccups. My ammo shot well accurate and no complaints. This was my first acid test with rifle ammo of my own manufacture. And I just received 2000 75 grain Rmr Bullets so I think I’ll try it some more.
