My Ride

My other vice is that I am a '60's "Blue Oval" fan ...
Our 1968 Mustang "GT/CS" California Special is one of 111 made that year with an "S" code 390 big block and four speed. I love this car ... it makes me into a teenager again!

Our second '60's Mustang is a '65 Mustang Fastback that I have owned for 33 years as of this coming September. It was a 289 with a four speed, but we're rebuilding it into a GT350 Shelby clone with the original 289 rebuilt to Shelby specs at just over 300HP and we're adding a 5 speed T-5 trans for better highway cruising. It will be white with the traditional blue racing stripes of course. Right now it is torn apart into a million pieces, but hopefully it'll be finished up sometime later this year and when it's all done it will look exactly like this beautiful Shelby!
:-D

Seeing your Mustangs brought back memories of my teen years. In 69 my buddies were driving Mustangs and I picked up a mint 67 Fairlane 500 GT 390 4 speed. I used to race and beat my buddies 68 390 4 speed Mustang until he topped me with a 67 Fairlane 427 4 speed. I couldn't beat that. Ah those good years of .23 a gal premium gas and cheap tires. I've never stopped missing the car as it was part of my youth but I never gave up the thrill of speed. My current toy is a 1993 Z-28 Camaro 355 6 speed with a D1R procharger running 18 lbs of intercooled boost. Its a nice little low ten second ride in the 1/4 at 138mph.
i have an 01 turbo beetle, there are few corvettes that can beat me :)
it looks like all the other new beetles and is lemon yellow as yellow is my fav color.
i doubt many people here are into tuners so i wont bore ya with specs :)
my 1st car was a 66 chevelle. my G-ma bought it for me at a garage sale on my 14th b-day. it wasnt very pretty but it ran.
she called me and had me ride my bike 6 miles to meet her. i got there and she said "do you like it" i was enthralled and then she said "good, happy bday" she let me drive it home that day.
i spent the next 2 years working on it almost daily. hand sanded the whole thing.
an uncle that was a painter for 60 years painted it for me. was metallic electric blue.
i spent the next 6 years putting money into that car. seemed she hated me. however i loved her and did all i could for her.
i had a yellow lab named max at the time. he rode shotgun while my friends sat in the back :)
i sold her when i was 24
her name was "betsy" and i miss her ALOT
my 1st set of tires lasted 2 days
Here's mine, "The Interstate Curser" aka 'The Silver Bullet".
Nothing fancy, just set back and ride in confront going hunting ,shooting or fishing with plenty room for gear.

My 87' Toyota Supra turbo. I built it from a sad $1000 pile of parts. It's got a motor from a Japanese market Toyota Soarer. Right now I'm making around 440hp (haven't got it on the dyno yet since the second turbo upgrade). It's hot road black for now, but I'm hoping to get some nicer paint on it once I move out of town and get a garage. So far in the past two years it got hit by two hail storms.
I don't think this quaifies as a nice ride when compared to the hardware you guys are running. Meet Genda my 1973 Datsun 620 (named after the Japanese avator who led the attack on Pearl Harbor). I bought it for $300 and painted it in the driveway. I keep him running with 2 screwdrivers and a hammer:kidding:.

Two of my favorite rides, one gravity powered the other a 55 Cessna 180, powered by a fuel guzzling Continental O-470A. It is the pickup truck of the north country.

Here's a project I am doing with my students at school. To make a long story short, we started with a refrigerated cold box, a pile of steel and a pile of 65 mustang parts. We built the car around the cold box. It is going in the cafeteria in another high school. It will hold milk and juice boxes.
Here's the space.

We painted the hood on the back wall.

We did a lot of work on this. The students shortened the back of the fenders taking about 15" off.

I am really proud of the work they are doing. We are almost ready to take it apart and finish painting it.

Both of my / our "Rides" (Parked that is, ready for load and go)
4wd blazer for snow roads and well 4 hove drive for anything God throws at me, or i need to bring, he can handle most any type of ground we come on, and re-fuel almost on anything we can find, had a great GPS and cruse control (ya sleep and wake ya when we get home) guess when I think of it, theses not much that can stop him, he can take me, pack my stuff, and or pull you out of a fix in a hurry and sees it as a fun day, and if and idiot can't count legs we can get Really close for a good shot,, haha
Guess he's my SHTF ride,,

Longshot,
Nice bike. I looked long and hard at the Streetfighter. I couldn't justify the purchase since my bike is in excellent condition and I have no real reason to part with it. I really like the performance and riding position of the Ducati. I've always been a sport bike rider (pilot) but as it sometimes does, life has gotten in the way and I haven't been riding as much as I used to. Nonetheless, I recently moved and now have a whole new area to take the bike out and explore. When my current bike (Yamaha R1) gets boring or whatever other excuse I can come up with, I'll sell it and find a nice Streetfighter. Ride safe.

Both are great rides. Im level 2 certified ducati technician and have ridden tons of them. I prefer the 848 SF over all the ducs - besides a multi 1200. Such fun in the turns with tons of torque. The 1098 SF is like riding on the back of a gorilla, very powerful and quite scary at times!!
My ride I'll post up soon - is a cbr600rr ive been working on for a few years. Street fightered and painted her up, re geared and tons of fun!! Ride safe, fellas
Here is Novalty my 1970 Nova. My first car and pre-kids toy, which is currently in extended hibernation in my garage.

Was looking for a credit builder, love Bermuda blue, and all the Z71 features...
So....... "SourMashII" joined my world. High mileage trade in from Montana, and I love him to death (although the "character" may cause you to doubt that)
