Reloaded another 100 30-06 150gr btsp over 40gr imr3031Attachment 279980
Made a few .45 rounds to test and see what Power Pistol does in my XD .45. I ran out of the free bottle of Nitro 100 I had laying around pretty much so figured I'd just load up and try to get that done.
Loaded some 380’s for my brother, resized a batch of 45acp, loaded a few 45-70.
Helped a buddy get set up to load 250 - 44 Russian. Apparently his girlfriend decided shooting my 44 with them was waaaayy too much fun!

Cast just about 500 HTC-310-225 RN (TACO) boolits. :D And FINALLY figured out that mold!!!
Casted up some Lee 125 LRNs for my 9mm and some 200 LRNs for my .45 ACP. Had a pin drop out of the mold mid casting and that was the night. Wish I'd have had a few more .45 ACPs but casting time was limited and it was only a 2 cavity mold.
Got everything ready to fireform some brass in a chamber that is marked 35 Ackley magnum only it ain't 35 Ackey magnum. Maybe I'll name it something else but it was made a long time ago on a pre war 98.
Annealed 85 pieces of 300 PRC brass.

Really nice day,I fired up my 20 lb Lee and cast some Lee 44 240 gr tumble lube, Lyman 429421 Keith, 433 RB and finally some Lee 311 93gr rn. I cast in my backyard watching some robins and listening to a Cardinal! GREAT DAY!Tim[smilie=l:[smilie=l:
re-organized, sorted and stacked my lead stash. finally feel ok for a bit.
I used to store them in a bucket..till it became difficult to alloy. I used to have just range scrap and just soft lead...easy to distinguish 5 from 10 hardness.. Then I added tin, tin babbit, linotype, Lyman #2, clip on ww, and mild antimonial lead...like 8 hardness.
Once I did all that..had to make shelves.
Then I standardized my ingots. Had some muffin tin stuff, some 5# mini pigs, some scrap in chunks and nuggets. etc. Poured everything down to half and pound ingots.
I separate, but still use buckets. Cardboard attached to the bucket naming what it is. When I have small quantities if something Ill use ammo cans.
For instance I have some super hard 40 bhn babbit. I also have mono and tin and super hard all in there own 50 cal cans well labled. I dont really have room on the bench where I cast for the ingots. So they get buckets under the bench.

broke out my new 30cal gas check maker from dave matteson, he does great work ! made 200 aluminum gas checks at the first sitting.... .014 flashing works well.
im sorry to hear that, i just lost my brother in law to covid 19.
Sorry to hear GMB. SARS COV2 is a nasty bug.
I did go into the garage and resized all those 30-255 Taco boolits and then powder coated some 40 S&W boolits.
I got a TM neck turning kit recently and while I was waiting on the PC to bake, I started playing with it a little. My plan is to make 300 BO out of 223/556 brass and I've made a few that chamber properly. Those all have brass thickness in the neck of < 0.012". The cases with brass thickness of > 0.012" do not chamber properly. So, all those wolf cases, etc - I'm gonna thin those necks down to 0.011".
I have to ask, did you swage the primer pockets after depriming and sizing? Even commercial 223 is starting to have crimped primer pockets. I use RCBS small base die on everything. I've never had a problem with any of it except it does take a little extra lube and muscle to really do big cartridges. But it should not affect the primer pocket at all.

A friend's grandson, and grandson in law, are getting into reloading. With a press on the way. Since projectiles, both cast and J word, are in short supply everywhere, I gave them several hundred cast bullets in two calibers, as well and a hundred of each caliber in J word bullets, to get them started. Finding primers and powder is on them, though I might be able to help them with a little powder.
Gotta help the newbies out.
