Someday I will get a pre 64 Model 70, a couple Win 94, and many others. It pays to marry the only child of a gun nut! He has over 50 moulds I bet too.
Yeah, I am very fortunate. A couple years ago I got his CZ 550 on 375 H&H.
Kind of a gift to myself, this is an Ideal marked two cavity mold, one for 358429 and the other 452423.

I like the 358429 shoot them a good bit. Also like the "Back to Basics" book. That is a classic.
Not the Model 34, just the grips; walrus ivory & the scrimshaw looks way nicer than the photos. These came from my duck-hunting partner; it's going to take me awhile to catch up from these...[smilie=1: Now I'll have to order another T-grip, I'm thinking the polished bronze would look right.

first test load shots doubt it will see another Jword for as long as I own it
Hamish are you on a Mac? If so I can help with that. I had the same problem.
I got this. It too will never see any factory ammo. Best Christmas present ever. Love my sweetheart. I don't like the black plastic checkered grips it came with. So I went to my trusty 1967 3 screw 22LR and pulled the wood grips off. They fit perfect. Amazing! 47 years later different gun different caliber. But the story doesn't end there. I'm usually not one to mention names but in this situation I think it is appropriate. I missed a sale on a set of Dembart checkering tools and expressed my disappointment on the thread. beekeeper saw it and offered to send me a set he had laying around for years..........FOR FREE, he wouldn't even let me pay him for postage. Well thats just the kind of folks on here. THANKS AGAIN JIM. There's more. I have a full 2x10 16 foot of walnut from a tree my grandfather cut down on his property. I'm gonna make a set of grips for the .45 convertible AND CHECKER THEM. Anyway, thanks to all on here. this is an awesome forum. Best on the net.

You guys will love that gun. Its almost as if it were made to shoot cast. No problem pushing it either. My buddy was all about his ".357" I loaded up that Ruger with some hot 45 Colts..................I have regained my spot on the mountain. You can even tell by the sound when it rings the steel.
I was not given anything gun related, but given a new best friend. She is an Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso).

This is late for this topic but my rifle was late in arriving. It's a Pedersoli 1874 "Quigley" Sharps in 45/70, my first rifle in this caliber. I can't wait to take it to the range and shoot it. I'll be casting bullets and shooting BP in it. I tried to photograph it like an original might have looked out West in the 1880's.
Always a good gift
