Long time reader of MLV. Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your contributions to Rifle/Handloader. Wish I could get south of the boarder to see you and shrapnel at your table. Work prevents me from traveling much.

Mike, when I was in Italy a few years ago, I drove through your ancestral home of Casali Venturini.
Home of Italian hillbillies! You come from good stock. I will drink to your health at the Italian Festival in Clarksburg, WV

good to have you back ,been reading your stuff since we both had hair and did not need suspenders to keep up our pants
Thanks again guys for the kind words and support. Since I posted last I have adopted two more collies. Their elderly owner died and they had nowhere to go so I brought them home. That makes four collies and two dashund crosses. Good thing we live in the country, have a large fenced back yard and no close neighbors. I guess I'm a product of the Lassie generation.
Some friends(also members here) and I did the Wisdom.Mt. Gun show last July..BUT.neither you, shrapnel,or John Barsness showed up..apparently the promoter and/or publicist was talking over his head !! Had big fun anyway--- We hope to try again this year,y'all come.. Onceabull
We could use more Lassie generation values. Great of you for helping dogs. We had a little German dog like yours, as a kid, and saw him chase a Shepherd out of the yard, at full speed, the both of them. The Shep was a monster with a head the size of a Griz. Stay healthy
You sir are the reason I got into casting close to 20 years ago. Thank you for getting me interested in this fun hobby.
Reading Mike's stuff got me interested in more than the Win 30-30's I grew up shooting. In fact, he started a life long addiction to old lever actions that has not stopped. Along with this forum firing my imagination in casting my own boolits I am far poorer but much happier.
For anyone who doesn't already know, Mike Venturino had open-heart surgery last week and has probably been regaling his doctors and nurses about the crazy folk he's met on this forum. He just posted a note on FB that the doctors are thinking about releasing him on Saturday. So...He may be writing again in the future with a better operating pump in his chest!
Thanks for the update Bruce. I wish him well. I've enjoyed his work over the years.
Mike I hope your surgery went well and you make a good recovery.
My prayers are with you Mike for a quick recovery.
I've never met you Mike, but I love your writings. Get better soon!
Mike, I have been reading your work since you moved to Montana. Back then you didn't know as much about guns as I did, and I didn't know much! With your help we've all learned together. Best wishes for your recovery and I look forward to reading much more from you!
[smilie=s: Hi Mike.Wishing you the best for a speedy and full recovery.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

I didn't know, Bruce. Thanks for the update. He probably thought surgery was tough, by now he's probably started re-hab and knows better, lol.
If you are reading this Mike...best wishes for a speedy recovery. Get well soon.
Rehab from surgery can be a long process. The harder you work at it, the better and faster it goes...I am living proof( more than a couple of cancer surgeries, radiation treatments, etc).
Get well soon.
