Got it in a batch of stuff from an old fellow who was selling his house and moving into an old folks home 35 or more years ago.
Steve
Here's some I have...Attachment 279171
The 4831 came with an old herter's press has 1972 date on the back.
Unique in the square can is going into some 40 S&W, can is from 1962 I think according to label.
BL-C is lot 2, price tag reads $2.00
I don't have much to add i think I only have an old red dot and unique.
I guess I could post pictures of brown and white paper bags. The two places I used before internet days dipped it out of a keg and weighed it in front of you.

Funny you should mention dipping out of kegs and in to paper bags...................I am just NOW finishing off a pound of Green Dot from 1975 that was in a brown paper bag, dipped out of an 8 pound keg. I have decided to start using up my oldest stuff first, and pulled this out, the paper sack was falling apart, and it was all in a ziploc bag. I had to strain all the paper fragments out, strange what we can find in these times of scarcity.................shoots just fine with Winchester primers with a 70 cent price tag!
Steve here... Here are latest two vintage purchases. The Herco was unopened from 1994, bought it at a gun show last month. The PB is a 4 pounder dated 7/73. It is new unopened. Picked that up this morning in a deal with some other items.
this one is full.

Steve here...Picked these up last weekend w a bunch of other stuff. Each can is about half full.
The old kegs were really cool, I wish I had kept them.
The plastic jugs just aren't the same.

Was given to me ... the Dupont can is full.
Still have to learn how to use blackpowder.
I am going on to 78, and many, many of these powder cans I have never heard of. and if one wanted to use them where would you ever find reloading data for them? keep them comming. a fascinating subject.
A lot of the powders like the entire Hercules line are the same or very close to the same recipe made today. Discontinued powders can be much harder to locate data for. Powders like HiVel #2 sometimes posted load data on the back of cans but most paper labels get damaged and data gets lost. Luckily many of the good people here go through a lot of work to save this info. Old reloading manuals and pamphlets are always a start but one of the best places to look for data would be here from experienced loaders. I'll post some more tins when I get back in. I'm on the east coast right now.
I was able to add these to the collection over the last 3 months or so.Attachment 287821

Nice additions
Wow, nice collection additions. What are the containers in the first picture?
Slim
Both are Hercules black powder fffg from as early as 1917 or 1914 can't remember at the moment. I think they are now my favorites in my collection. 2nd pic is also Hercules fffg dated 4/47 and over half full. Pyrodex isn't nearly that old but 7 full cans so I'm not complaining.
Here are a few more. All are filled and all discontinued. With a big shout out to the member who hooked me up with these and more importantly some published load data for these powders. Thanks X.
