And what is actually there? Steel or Aluminum? All the dies?
Does it have the steel handles marked 32-20 or aluminum?
I think he's just teasing us.
Well, I have had a good 310 week. I got two L steel handles with the insert , one S steel with insert, one 38-40 set with alloy handles , one 38-40 tool with mold ,not sure which tool it would be. Also picked up a loose set of 38-40 and 30-30 dies for 310. Got a small set of Ideal Handles for $10.00 in the original box, the small early box. The loose 38-40 set had a #2 insert in it which of course was the wrong one but as it happens I needed a #2 to complete another set . Good week. Also got a steel 8mm handle.
Also been a very good week for rare and discontinued jacketed bullets to feed my lever guns. Been like Christmas around here.
Steel handles with "insert"? What would that "insert" be?
Pictures?
It's the insert that screws into the handles opposite the side with the boss, that matches the diameter of the cartridge case you are reloading. Some of the universal steel handles that are not caliber marked are "universal " , just like the alloy handles - and require the adapter ring/screw in insert, depending on the cartridge and dies you are loading
New one on me. Have never seen or even heard of that before in STEEL handles.
Here are pictures of the 8mm set and the universal small s steel set that uses the same inserts as the alloy handles. the other two sets are the L or rifle size of the same thing.

The learning never stops, as a great man once said.
Scott has a set of the S handles on the for sale board now, $100 or best offer.
yes and they made those in the "S" for Special size or big for 348 Win, 50-70 etc.
To me the S & L steel handles are the creme de la creme of the 310 handles. I backed into a small set so cheap I didn’t notice until I got home from the gun show that they were small (and at the time I was loading a lot of 45-70 with tongs). Fortunately I found a large set just a few months later at an nearly equally give away price, and I’m good to go.

My steel "Special Large" handles are marked L S , with about that much space between the two letters. I have an alloy Special Large with no markings whatsoever.
The .348 set that was listed on ebay was a standard handle with two 5/8" dies and two that were actually for .348.
Too Bad - Looks like they took it down before it sold. How did you find out it was a standard handle? The reason i ask is that i have two "Special Large " handles that are alloy and look for all the world like standard handles - No markings whatsoever - But Special Large non the less. One of those sets, I recognized on ebay, just by comparing them to other dies that were in the photo - Otherwise not listed as special large handles. The hunt continues
They just didn't look Special to me so I asked if they were marked and if all of the dies would screw into them. The two dies that were marked for the .348 did not fit but the others did.
