Good hunting guys.
The 357-358 guns with the 200 grain RCBS style bullet might well be the perfect cast bullet combo for hunting thinnd skinned critters in the woods.I have not had a deer or hog move from the spot where they were shot.
I have rifles in 357 Mag, 357 Super Mag, 358 MGP, 350 Rem Mag, and 35 Whelen. When correctly loaded, with proper shot placement, they do not wound, they are DRT rifles, including the 357 mag when loaded like a rifle.
I agree…imo the 35 Rem is my favorite for cast boolits. It can be loaded to max j word load data with better DRT performance than JWords. I run my cast at 2100 fps tested out out my chronograph with stellar accuracy. Most run their .358 of much larger calibers at slower velocities. It’s a best of a DRT caliber with a HP cast for thin skinned game.
Nice! I hope to score with my .358 Win in a couple weeks.
