Very interesting,,,Gonna have to give this a try. I get bored just shooting bulls eyes as well. I am a paper plate person,,,If most of my shots hit a paper plate I am happy.

When I suggest paper plates around here, you'd that I was asking to (insert your own bad thoughts).
They don't understand aim small miss small!
Some start counting score, and it just goes downhill from there. I don't waste my breath anymore!
Keeping things interesting Charlie.
My next target will be one of those pendulum things that you have to hit 3 or 4 times for it to rotate over.
The score on hostages should be -50 points.
You shoot a hostage you lose 50 points.
I kind of like the idea. Just ran into this topic just now.
We shoot at regular sized paper plates at 25 yds with snubnose 38/357 & "dessert" size at 15yds or less for fun & practice. So, I think we may try this in the Spring when it warms up. I have a few shooters I know, who like to talk a lot of smack. Have not got them to shoot at the papers plates yet, but perhaps something like this, after I show them these targets & explain the rules to them... well maybe then they will "put up, or shut up".
;)
Thanks for sharing! & Thanks Phantomrider64 for reviving this topic!

Since we used to play this game, I've moved on to a new practice routine where I can shoot alone. I've been using a shot timer to put the pressure on the shooter. The object is to get rounds off quickly & accurately. Look at a spot and put a hole there...simple. I built a new backstop lead scavenger system and hang cardboard home made targets in it.
This picture shows where I practiced with the .45ACP using magazines loaded with 6 rounds.

When the timer beeps, the object is to double tap the target in the center of the chest and add the third round to the head...move quickly to the next target and do the same. This lasted for a while, was fun & frustrating at the same time but beneficial.
Soon this routine got old and I came up with a new target, still using the shot timer but the twist here is...of course...adding a hostage...

This was my first experiment using it...it slowed me considerably on the shot timer, about a full second to a second and a half...not a lot of time but when your shooting, it feels like forever. Anyway, in this first attempt I went from a 'Hero to a Zero' because of one errant shot...nicking the hostage!
But, it was fun still.
Any chance you can re-post those attachments? They won't show up now.

Think these are the ones. They are the templates to trace the targets quickly and then fill in with a magic marker.
Enjoy it while you can boys !! A couple of blokes with the same sense of fun shot targets like these at a shooting club a while back and utubed it - every club and shooting organisation in our state got a cease and desist letter from firearms branch --NO MORE -- the lilly livered Aussie public is not amused - the politicians is not amused - we who must be obeyed is not amused -
