I always notify of a shipment and a receipt. And when I get notice of a receipt, I send an acknowledgment. That way, both parties know what is going on.

I think it is nice to at least let the shipper know that you got your package. Sure it can be tracked but if not signed for, can also be stolen. It is just better to know that all is well.
I usually send a simple message like " Got it. Thanks." No need to get gooey or anything like that.
When I sell something, I always let them know when it goes out and what the tracking number is. I also ask them to let me know when they get it.
Almost all do reply when the get it. They go on my "sell to" list.
Those that don't go on my "don't sell to list" Only a few on this list.
Those people probably think that they got what they ordered, and that's it.
I don't think they realize that they are not dealing with a business.
They are dealing with a fellow Cast Boolet Shooter.
Kind of like an un-seen friend of a club.
At least that's the way I'd like to think of it.
I'm guessing some people are just brought up different.
