She is in our prayers!
Prayers headed out her way Lloyd, and hoping the modern doc's can save her hand.
hardest part is not being there myself. I have to stay back and watch the younger grandson and get him to school. Its a pretty helpless feeling! Hate to pick favorites but this little girl was allways grandpas girl! I cant express how much your prayers mean to me!
Praying Lloyd....In Jesus name....Amen....
Wife and I are petitioning the Lord on behalf of the young lady and your family.
I don't even know what to say, Lloyd. Stay close to the family, face this thing together, reassure the adults that this is not their fault (although they will feel guilty nonetheless). This was an accident...pure and simple. When tools and machinery are part of our lives (such as in a rural setting) we tend to take them for granted; they are just part of the landscape. But, of course, your daughter and son-in-law didn't know the kids were playing near where the machine was at work and the kids...well, they are just kids, kids don't see danger as impacting them, it's something that happens to other people.
Please...when the immediate needs of all are tended to, when the doctors have done what they can do, when thousands of hugs are shared...get your daughter and son-in-law into some quality time with a qualified therapist.
And, finally, be blessed that you still have your wonderful granddaughter with you...I lost one of mine at 21 to an auto accident...I'd give my right arm (even my life) if she were back with her family with her life before her...even if she had lost a hand or limb.
God bless you and yours....my wife and I are praying.

Joe
Prayers are being said in your granddaughters and your families name. Hang in there.
Prayers for you and your family. Children are resiliant. I responded to a call a few years back, Similar situation except this 8 year old had his leg crushed and it was by a dump truck. He has had 5-6 surgeries since then but he is able to walk. Luckily the artery was missed in his case, He did have to get many plates and pins though and he does have a limp. But he still has his extremity. I pray they have her in a good childrens hospital capable of dealing with such trauma. Its a devastating injury for a child, But she is young enough that she may be able to recover well. Children heal much faster then adults. Never underestimate our GOD, he does amazing things!
Mercy for all children; in Jesus Name. AMEN. Prayers for you and your family Lloyd.
She will be in my prayers. If it is any comfort my son, age 5, cut two fingers off in a bicycle chain nothing but a piece of skin held them on but they were able to reattach them and despite some movement restrictions he is fine grown and with children of his own all of whom love shooting.
Praying for a good outcome Lloyd!
Lord, guide the hands and minds of the doctors who work on her hand. Sustain Lloyd and his family, especially her parents, through this valley. Walk with them and encourage them, sustaining their love for one another.
She and her doctors are in my prayers
just got off the phone. they saved the hand but one of the main blood vessels is destroyed so there will be circulation problems. the nerve to her thumb was crushed so they had to cut one of the nerves to one of her middle fingers and transplant it for her thumb so her two middle fingers wont work independly. All the bones in her wrist were crushed and some pieces were missing so its all pinned together and they said she will loose a good part of the mobility in the wrist. She will need more surgerys to remove pins and plates and possibly to install more where the bones dont regenerate properly but they did say to consider it almost a miracle that they didnt have to amputate. I thank all of you as its people like you that are kind enough to take a minute and say a prayer for someone you dont even know thats amazing. I think its prayers like that that God puts a priority on!!
The prayers will continue throughout her recovery period as well. Her physical therapy will be long and painful for her to get her mobility back to where she can use the hand again. Your role as the Grandpa of course, being difficult as you will want to help her along with the recovery as well. Keep her spirits up and she will bounce back despite the long road ahead.
