I believe Jmorris has a rotor inside of the tubular housing with one or more cavities in it to flip the boolits over. it is driven by the motor on the left.
Am I correct Jmorris?

Yes. I will take some more photos when I get back to Texas.
I have a piece of 1"X6" OLD, OLD DOOR FRAME MOLDING. THIS HAS 6 GROVES AND IS 4' LONG.
THE GROVES ARE @ 1/2" WIDE & 1/4" DEEP (could be made with a router & countersink bit)
IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO LOAD. I TAKE A HAND FULL OF BOOLITS AND PLACE THEM ON THIS BOARD, THEN I CAN SORT THEM IN THESE GROVES, INSPECT AS I SORT. FOR PISTOL BOOLITS I INHERTED ABOUT 30,000 BUTTON NOSED WAD CUTTERS, H&G #50. USING THIS
BOARD I CAN PLACE THEM IN THE GROVES ONE WAY OR THE OTHER, THEN I HOLD A PLASTIC
TUBE AT THE END OF THE BOARD AND PULL THE BOOLITS FROM THE BOARD INTO THE TUBES.
I SPEND AN EVENING DOING THIS AND BOX THE TUBES. FULL BOX HOLDS 3,330 BOOLITS. THE
SEMI WADCUTTERS I LOAD, I SPEND A DAY OR TWO CASTING, AND ANOTHER DAY LUBING. I
COULD POST A PHOTO OF THIS BOARD IF ANYONE WANTED IT... HAPPY LOADING- thebigmac
What bpm (boolits per minute) are you getting out of your lnl feeder??
mine isn't that fast to use it as a direct feed onto the star.
I am estimating that the star is capable of doing at least 720 per hr.
That's 2 boolits a sec and i can do that manually using tubes.
Hornady claims it will do 100 bullets in 5 minutes. Kind of slow. On top of that, the lead bullets don't seem to feed as easy as jacketed do.
if properly adjusted (PITA to adjust too) it stacks the bullets pretty nicely at about one tube per min....yeah, i could prolly do that by hand, but i am a gizmo junky....
agreed on the finicky nature of the Hornady using cast bullets....even a tiny fin will hang it up...
