didn't plant much had some medical issues this year
again, the best year ive ever had in 20 years. i read the weather report several times a day off of the internet. lots of rain this week is forecasted so that will mean lot of prayers against hail and damaging winds. picked some peppers already and that is something for zone 4. my leeks are big all ready and i have until october for them, to grow bigger. i would again tell rural gardeners to find and get old cattle water tanks and fill with compost. use fish fertilizer and epson salts as the fertilizer. you will not believe the crops of vegs you get with this method. my potato container garden is unbelieveable. the plants are 3 ft tall and i planted them in three layers this year as you tube suggested. i have 4, 15 gallon containers of this and i expect to get a huge crop of potatoes. on the north side of my deck i have a lot of straw mulch so no weeds there. this spring i got some store bough potatoes that went to sprouting and i put them under the straw mulch on the north side of the deck. the plants are three ft tall also for all the rain we have had. should get a good amount of good white potatoes from this impulsive planting also. i have been planting from time gooseberry bushes as a decoration plant and they get tall and thick and are nice to look at. they are covered in berries this year also. i plant them next to yard light poles and out buildings and keep them watered and they go nuts. 12 ft tall and no weeds grow near them. thick and beautiful. maybe some jam from them also. ive also planted a lot of nanking cherries this year. anybody want to tell me about these. they are growing well. my juneberry bushes grow slow but when they mature they produce a very good berry for pies, thanks for listening.

I've spent the day pulling weeds out of my onions.
I used Preen to keep the weeds down and there weren't many weeds to pull.
I have more weeds than anything else this year... spemt an hour weeding the lettuce patch today. Need to get to the tomato rows soon...
