72, last summer. Still have the first mold I bought, used, in 1967 and still use the Lyman 45 and sizing die that I bought NIB at the same time.
Started casting in about 1972 for a SW mod 29, and a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt. Since then I've cast for the .22 Hornet, 32 HR mag, 38/357, 41 mag, 375 Win, 45-70, 7.62x54, 45 ACP... probably some others that I've forgotten....
I'm 66 yrs old now.
Forgot the 35 Whelen.
40 next week, but I watched/"helped" my dad when I was like 10...
44. Never been around cast bullets before 5 years ago.
23 only been casting since November
60 and been casting for maybe 7 years now. Wish I could get all the money back for all the bullets I bought over the years.
63 and just starting this spring
started casting in the 1960's with my dad on the kitchen stove with a lyman pot , ring and ladle
I’m 52. I have been reloading since 15. Took a long break but got back in 12 years ago and have enjoyed casting bug for the last 8 years. Health holds me back but...still slugging along.

Started casting for 9mm and 45 ACP back in the mid 90’s while competing in submachine gun matches. Scrap yard lead was .10 per pound then. Started with a Lee melting pot and a pair of Lee aluminum molds. I would load the first 4 rounds of jacketed in the mag as “bore cleaners” and top the magazine off with my poor mans pills.
Time went on and now I’m semi retired with a large piece of land to enjoy. My newest passion is to modify the core pin of a hollow base wad cutter 358 mold and lengthen the body of the boolit into a hollowed out nose form. The final design goal is have extreme expansion and to silently pop armadillos on the farm through a threaded model 92 in 38/357mag.
I’m 63 been casting for approx 15 years , cast for my handguns , 45 colt, 44 Russian, 45 schofield,
And my 1886 winchesters, 33 win, 38-70, 40-70,45-90, 45-70,50-110,
I started casting, loading when I was 21 in 1965 for the AMU in the army. We only used pure lead and had to pressure pour and cast at a very hot temperature to get good results. I casted a 200 grain SWC 45 and a 148 grain wadcutter 38 Special bullet. I used several brands of molds. We all shot master scores with them. We had single sizers and I don't remember the brand.

Started loading in '75 and found that cast was the way to go in handguns..... REAL QUICK. So by '76? or 77 was cranking out 38's and 44's on a Coleman stove. Wore that thing out. Then fell up into a heckuva deal for a cpl moulds and a 10# Lyman bttm pour pot..... still using it. I don't shoot handguns nearly as much as days gone by,and it isn't because I "can't". Because of a weird twist of fate,an illness to inner ear,my eyesight got vastly improved about a dz years ago. Don't need details as most wouldn't believe it anyway. Just sayin, can shoot better now than in my handgun heydays.
Just don't care that much for shooting them? Now it's jacked the freak up varmint rigs. Have found some real inroads to shooting cast at JB velocity, with incredible accuracy. Not one to spend too much time slobbering over a benchrest, and yes.... got a bunch of nice equipment. To the point, just got a brandy new Protektor front rest, along with their fr bag, rear bunny bag,and elbow rest. All in their camo cordura. It was bought to be quicky brought to bear, vs our "heavy" custom setup. That takes a wheel barrow(not really) to move.... along with leather bags. I shoot in the rain,a lot. Covered station but still.... heavy dampness and leather don't mix well.
Would much rather be out hunting varmints than farting around on a benchrest. But,you gotta tune so.... bench it is. We have an indoor pistol range and I rarely use it. It's vented very nicely.... and it is nice to be able to shoot after dark. Just don't have anything left to prove with pistols? Got a safe full of them, they're all going to the boys so aren't for sale(4 grown sons).
Got a cpl handgun projects going though. A stainless 5" 1911 from raw casting(not 80%).And a 4" Python that's getting the kitchen sink thrown at it(roller bearing).
Sorry for the novel, too much coffee, haha.
61.

59 started casting at 30 to keep costs down and now I cast for all my guns. mg's can take a lot of ammo to keep going at the range, my mg34 can gobble up lots of ammo when I hold the trigger on a target. :)
I was a late boomer, I started this year @52. I started casting Lee key drive slugs but have moved into casting for pistols.
