Ruger created this problem for themselves. If they had made a DAO larger version of the LCR we wouldn't be having this discussion. But Ruger in their infinite wisdom made a 3" barrel with adjustable sights and a 35 ounce weight. In that platform it is a trail gun and better be able to shoot average five shot groups at 25 yds of 2" or darn close to it.
If it cannot, everyone should go buy a compact polymer .40 or .45 auto instead of this Ruger. Much lighter, easier to carry, and will outperform the revolver in other categories (like capacity).
The argument that most people can't shoot, so most guns shouldn't be able to shoot is an argument I don't like. We should all aspire to be better, but if the gun can't do it, what is the point of trying?
