Sounds good to me. I can't wait to get to take my own to the range.

Sounds good to me. I can't wait to get to take my own to the range.
The anticipation is killing my 22 CFs.
just curious will these work on a dillon 550?
Short answer, no. I believe the toolhead would flex too much. Plus, you would only be using one die at a time. BT will need to provide correct answer, but my gut feeling is no
We generaly do not advise one to use their expenive progressive presses for swaging use. The pressure generated when swaging is just not somthing I would addvise one to subject a dillon to. Any decent single stage reloading press will work for swaging bullets.
Just got all the dies I have on order for the 22 cal sets back from their first heat treatment. Almost there guys! I got to clean them up and send them off to get their Nitride finish.
Thanks
BT
Yes, it covers the entire die inside and out. Reduces friction, reduces possiblity of scratches, hardenes surface of die to near Carbide hardness and quality. It was a very noticable improvement in the ability of the point form die's operation and the quality of the bullet from the die.
IMOP it is as close as we are going to get a steel swage die to carbide quality without the extreem cost of carbide dies.
BT
Yes I apply it to all my dies.
No it doesn't build up anything on the surface of the metal to clog up any ejection holes.

BT do you have a detailed video of bullet making or are there any out there that you know of that are good. I would like to try this but don't know the first thing about it. It is something that I have thought about for a long time but do not know where to start. Thanks. Jim
BT looked at this thread better and found all kinds of video's I think I'll be placing an order soon. Jim
George Ulrich mentioned he was looking to try Ferro-TiC as an alternative to a carbide insert given the reduced price. Have you tried Ferro-TiC before?
Titanium correct? I would be curious myself? Would he still be using and EFM Machine to do so? George would know. I am definitely going to have to look into that!
Got a lot of you guys patiently awaiting the completion of these dies. I am finishing up 50 of the point form dies right now, all I have left to do is a quick lap of the bullet cavity and QC check each die for proper bullet diameter and function of the die before I send them off to be Nitride processed. I expect to send them off by end of next week. Turn time is a little more then a week for the nitride processing.
I realize it has been difficult for many of you to wait so long but I am absolutly positive everyone of you will be %110 pleased with every aspect of your purchase. I am staking my reputation on it.
Yes I am behind orginal schedule predictions but the fact of the mater is I choose to delay the dies for the increase in quality that this nitride processing provides. I would not have felt comfortable sending out these dies with anything less. Not to mention making quality dies takes a long time, ask anyone that has tried.
I do not feel any better about this delay then you guys do but I will answer for and take responsability for any and all delays at any time but I will not tollerate having to answer for second rate quality. When you guys receive your final dies you will be able to see the results of this quality I speak of.
If you all can bare with me, the dies are in the final phaze of completion and you all will be recieving your orders soon.
I hope any frustration customers may be feeling is not multiplied by the lack of ammo and supplies especially in this 22 cal. We could not predict the events that has lead to the shortages but I can predict this........ all of you with a set of these dies on order will soon never have to worry about it ever again.
If you guys can hold on just a bit longer I will provide you with the perfect set of dies I have promised all of you.
Thank you all for your continued patience and support. All I can do is my best and I am going as fast as I can. The rewards for your patience will be worth every bit, I guarentee it!
Brian
Thanks for the update.
I want dies that will make me great bullets for the rest of my life. A couple extra weeks is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. Take your time and keep the quality high. Being in sales, I have found it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep every single customer happy 100% of the time. Impossible. Some people just are unhappy to begin with and will try to drag others down to their level. Keep up the hard work.
I am so looking forward to being able to order my die set. :)
Yeah Buddy ! I opened up my mouth too soon about getting my set & now all my friend are pestering me with When,When, & When ! I went to BTs shop & made a couple dozen myself on the prototype dies. Well, if I can make good bullets on the first go round, anyone can. We took the samples up to 3600fps in a 22-250. No fliers, & they knock hell out of silhouettes. Call us when they are ready Brian. I`ll send the balance due so I can get crankin.
I decided to spend the extra $$$ & have acquired 3 of the 4 Lee presses I want. I will set them up & leave them that way,1 press for each stage. Pro-duction !!!!!!!
I, on the other hand, just ordered a "real" swage press from U.P. North who is starting next week on a run. If you want one, get your order in early. I figured that if I was going to do anything other than the 22lr to .224, I would need the extra power a heavy duty press would give. I can't wait six to eight months for one from the Corbins, therefore when I heard Tim was going to start some soon, I jumped at it.

Just sent off a large package of dies to be nitride processed. Included in this package is 40+ 22 cal poit form dies allong with many other dies for the 22 cal package as well as other callibers. Also sent in the new Lee ram tops. It all will be perfect.
I expect this shipment back after Memorial day (last week of this month) then I'll get right on it for assembling these dies and getting them sent out ASAP.
Thanks for all your patience and support.
Good shooting and swage on!
BT
p.s. I think I'll be doing a simple instructional video very soon regarding the use of this entire set of 22 cal dies.
