I just bought a c/z 527 with a full stock in .223. I bumped into it at a local gunshop and it is unfired and has a 1/9 twist barrel. I hope it shoots cast as good as the one i have with a 1/12 twist barrel. Does anyone have any luck with a c/z with a 1/9 twist........................Curdog I am going to shoot it today.
Just bought a Colt Commander s-70 45acp for social engineering if needed.
I just bought a Walther PPQ Navy. I plan to have the barrel reduced to 106MM and use it in IDPA CCP Division.

1970’s vintage Remington 700 BDL in 300 Winmag. Really nice wood…
Nothing for a while but, I'm looking for a project......need something old chambered in an obscure cartridge I don't already have or have worked with...
Yeah I get that urge myself too. Many years ago I bought a bunch of Japanese Arisakas to use the actions for other purposes. I converted one by rebarreling it to 22-250 Ackley Improved, getting a new Walnut Stock and mounting a scope on it. I used it for varmint hunting for several years. It is still a tack driver. On a good day I can put 5 rounds into one small ragged hole at a 100 yards with it. I am thinking about restocking another and leaving it as a 7.7 though as they chromed the bore and rechambering it for 30-06 might ruin it. anyway, when i last looked at it, it still has a nice intact mum, anti-aircraft windage sights and a bayonet, so maybe it would be bad today to mess with it. But maybe one of the other ones with a bad stock might be better to play with. I've got to pull tem back out and check them over again. I have the same dilemma with some Carcanos I bought years ago too. a couple of the carbine were setup for 8x57, and with a scope mounted on it, would be awesome as a pickup truck gun. Albeit it would like kick like a mule. But nowadays the prices for these things has gone way up from the super cheap prices years ago.

I knew an old WW2 veteran who had fought the Japanese in New Guinea, Borneo and the Dutch East Indies. He was in my Father's Battalion
(2/14th) was an avid hunter here in Australia.
He had a nice rifle made up with a lovely stock in 303British, just to rub the Jap's noses in it as he said.
I was thinking along the lines of an Ohio, Vincent muzzleloader kit from TOTW or a German combination gun in 16 bore next to some obscure German or Austrian BP cartridge.....but honestly, it will be whatever captures my attention when I see it.
I've read some pretty impressive things about the Arisaka action regarding its strength. They should make an accurate bolt rifle. As with yourself and, given the prices I see today, with an intact mum and aircraft sights one might be ahead to sell it and buy something not quite so historical and valuable.
My last gun ....................I haven't bought it yet.
On the same wonderful day, I bought a 1st generation Universal M1 Carbine and a Beretta Model 71 in .22 cal.
Both have proven to be marvelous guns. Can't wait to see what comes by next!

Two...but it's been a long time since the last one. Great collector pieces. A Llama "Extra" (extra because the barrel/slide are about one inch longer than a 1911) and a very early Ballester-Rigaud HAFDASA (Hispano Argentino Fabrica de Automoviles, Sociedad Anonima translates
Hispanic Argentine Factory of Automobiles, Inc.)

Just Purchased a Ruger no in 270 win. Previous owner took it to Africa and the stock suffered some minor damage which I have sorted out, what a lovely piece of wood it wears. I now have what my heart has craved for some years. Regards Stephen
Picked up a Marlin 925 in 22LR, for just over $100, plus a little shipping and transfer, still less than $150 all in. Super accurate, nice wood, and I had an extra so the missing magazine was no issue.
A Mauser Sport Model 22 single shot followed me home today. A bit worse for wear, it will make a nice shooter after cleaning and repairs to the stock. Best part is no paper trail.
