Got out the Chrony
I finally got a chance to chrono some loads I've been working on for a few rifles and figured I'd list the rusults;
1903-A3 sporterized '06- Ranch Dog TLC-311-165-RN/FP cast of 3:1 lead: lino alloy water quenched, sized .309" with Hornady check and my WWVA lube over 36 grains IMR-3031 and a WLR primer. 2119 fps average speed and zeroed at 80 yards yielded 2" groups.
Marlin 336 with same bullet over 21 grains H4198 and WLR primer gave an even 1800 fps speed and gave 1 1/2" groups with w Weaver 2 1/2X scope. Zeroed at 50 yards.
H&R Handi-Rifle with the group buy 380-225-RN/FP of same alloy and lube but with Gator checks sized .380" over 23 grains H4198 and a WLR primer in sized up 30-30 brass ran out at 1516 fps speed with 2" groups at 50 yards with an old Tasco 2 1/2X shotgun scope.
I think these are ready for deer season!

Good morning
Those Crony´s are an eye opener.. I get mine out once while up there just to see what reality is with that Pet load. Varies to what others find in thier rifles & handguns. Distance to muzzle also comes into play.
You can also compare what sizing a boolit .001 diferent or more does with velocity.

Thats no kidding! I lost 158 fps going to as cast .460 instead if sizing .459. In switching to the cowboy expander (.458) I lost 30 fps.
