Standard Arms Model M question

I have a Standard Arms Model M that I'm trying to disassemble to clean. The action handle - that pretty decorated brass pump handle - is held on by a pin of some kind. It's not a pin you can drive out. It goes from one side of the handle to the other, inside a bushing. I've seen pics online, and in some rifles, it looks like one side of the pin has a slotted screw head. The one on my rifle doesn't have a screw head, but the pin does rotate inside a cylindrical bushing.
The slide handle on a Model M is not the same as the Model G. Not much info anywhere on this rifle.
Any ideas?

Here's a pic from Numrich. How or what would "capture" this pin to hold it in place? There's nothing to screw it into. It goes completely through the pump handle.

It looks to me like it is machined on the end to accept a "C" clip/washer. I am not familiar with the Standard Arms Model M so I don't know exactly where that pin fits the rifle. james

That would make sense, but I think I might have to disassemble other parts to get to it. I saw another photo online where someone just put a bolt through the handle with a nut on the end.

This isn't my gun but this is what it looks like (the pin is on the upper left).

A small snap ring goes in groove, probably.

Now I can see how they're clipped in. The clips are shaped like a log splitting wedge, tapered at one end, with a cut-out to fit over the groove in the pin. Getting them out will be tough. To get the bolt out, that brass handle has to come off, and the bolt slides forward and out.
