Is this mold a bevel base?
Yes, the Lee 356-120-TC is bevel based.
Just happen to have that mold setting on my bench and yes it's a bevel base.
That’s too bad, I was hoping it was just the way the pics were taken.
Thanks for the help.
The boolits dropped from my double cavity , 356-120-TC ( #90239) standard lube groove ( not the tumble lube ) does have a very small bevel base . I didn't think I would like it but sizing in a Lyman 450 with soft lube does not give me any problems ... no lube gets around the bevel if I adjust the depth correctly and don't all get carried away with the lube pressure , heck when I do that it will get under a flat base .
Actually the little bevel is quite useful in bullet seating , you don't have to flare the case mouth as much . I like the little bevel , it poses no problems .
I have some commercial cast boolits and the bevels are twice as large .
Six cavity moulds may have different bevels , I don't know .
I would buy another like the 452-230-TC with a small bevel .

I couldn't get that mold to group worth a darn.
Too small. The LEE 125 gr. RN O have drops at .357. Better.
LEE 125 gr. RF sized at .358, shines. Have to cut back on starting load as it seats much deeper.

I ended up ordering the 356 125 RN with the hope that it will cast small enough for 9mm. .356-.357” is all I need.
I have that mold and like it a lot. I am working with heavier 9mm boolits with a flatter metplat. But for general use that boolit is hard to beat.
I’m glad to hear that doc, I ordered a mold from another maker and .358-.359” is the norm which is useless for me.
Just got a six cavity .356-124 rn and it drops .3565 but 130gr instead of 124 not a problem shoots good drops good no complaints.
I love my lee 356-120 tc standard lube grove 6 cavity , that slight beveled base doesn't bother me a bit . When I first purchased it I spent a little time polishing the cavities by hand , out to .3575 or .358 depending on temp / alloy . I have set my fancy 9 mm molds aside since its arrival now shooting it exclusively in my 9s .
Later I ordered a lee 6 cavity 452-230 tc standard lube grove as well , planning to have the blocks cut down to remove the beveled base but they shoot so good - I don't want to take the chance on messing the mold up .
I still use my saeco #68 / #130 molds for my 45s but that 230 tc works in every 45 auto I have tried it in even with factory springs .
This has been a pretty versatile profile. I powder coat and size to .358".
I powder coat and shoot it in a Ruger 77/357 with decent (3"@100) accuracy at 1500 fps with Promo.
