Help identifying this alloy?

I picked up about 1000lbs of Wheel Weights about 2 years ago. After sorting through it all I finally got the the bottom and this “thing” was on the bottom. It weights around 80lbs. Almost like a sink? But it’s soft like lead, but looks to be constructed from sheets of lead or something. Not poured from a liquid. So not knowing exactly what it was, I melted it separately and marked those ingots with an X. They are brighter in color than my WW and Soft WW ingots and they are also like 24+ BHN (pencil test)

I will get pictures of the ingots tomorrow after work and post them if it would help. I’m just curious to what material it could be. I believe it melted around the normal lead temp, but it’s been so long I’m not 100% sure

Maybe it's part of a storage container for radioactive waste.

Are you able to test hardness? That's not a TRUE determination of content, but it might give you some idea of what the alloy is equivalent to.

Could be 50/50 solder, it looks like �� t could be a wiped joint!

i think the safest bet would have it XRF tested.

The X is an ingot from this piece
The WW is obviously wheel weights

The X does have a more silver look to it than the WW (doesn’t show up in the pictures). I also wanted to weigh the ingots against each other, but apparently I need to buy a new scale.

The X can be scratched with an H pencil (20-22)
The WW can be scratched with and HB pencil (14-15)

I would first put a few drops of muriatic acid on them. No foaming observed would eliminate the possibility of zinc.

Forgot to add that. I have done that as well. No bubbling, no zinc.

Take to junk yard get XRF test end of Question what it all else is speculation

Might be a sink from a laboratory due to the thickness. The lab I was familiar with had all sorts of chemicals some of which had to be neutralized before going down the drain. Frank

Some pawn shops now have XRFs also. If you have a smaller piece that will fit in the machine.

I haven't found a yard close that even has an XRF gun
