Has anyone run across 9mm shot loads?
I would think you could "fake" them with the (Speer? CCI? Whoever makes them lately) 357 / 38 shot capsules; I plan to try to make some, but that's in the future projects stack yet (Things are getting done slowly here.) I was thinking starting with a 9MMx29 or cut down .223 case, make it similar to the 45 ACP shot shells that RCBS makes a die set for; Probably size the front with a 32 ACP die set and the rear with a 9mm die set?
I have made them for 380’s that cycle

Used .223 brass as the donor case. If you can get long enough brass suitable for 9mm, it can be done.
Nice! Well, now I need to do that too once I get started on those :)
Now I know what to use those 5.56mm blank cases for :Fire:
CD
Blank cases should do it nicely!
jmorris - What diameter did you size the 380 shot shells down to? I am hoping that a 32 ACP die set will do it, I haven't checked measurements yet (too busy on other things.) Looks like they function beautifully!!
I tried making some 9mm shot rounds using cut down 223 brass. Cut 223 to length and necked down with a 30 Carbine die, I could get them to chamber consistently in my pistol with no issues. The problem is the extractions are inconsistent. I think the 223 case diameter is just a little too small to produce consistent extractions in 9mm but close enough for 380. This was in both a Glock and Beretta 92. I’m going to move on to trying 9mm Win Mag cases.
Speer makes 9MM shot cartridges and has for many years. They are filled with #12 shot and perform about like a 22 mag shot cartridge -- which is just fine at 6-7 feet on a Prairie Rattler.
I realize you can buy them, but what fun would that be? :D
You can load the 9mm like you would like 357/38 like they did years ago with out the plastic, with 2 cards over the powder and one over the shot. If you use a wheel gun.
