This box came with a Vetterli that I bought.
That is cool!!!
The rounds are rim fire but I converted the rifle to center fire, though I kept the rim fire firing pin.
I think the rounds are paper patched (they're wrapped with something).
I have read that they did sell them paper patched. I have seen them going for $25 per round in much worse condition than that. Curious what kind of deal did you get on the Vetterli? I am hoping to stumble on one that still uses rim fire and learn to make my own brass and load the rim fire cartridges for them. That ought to keep me bu
sy for a while.
I paid $250 for this altered/bubba-ed Vetterli with the ammo. It was a great shooter, but it needed 8mm Lebel brass with a larger head. I sold it for $225 and kept the ammo.
I paid about the same for this Vetterli with no ammo (top one - bottom is a Gallagher .54 repro). It's in great condition. I converted it and use 348 Winchester brass and load only black powder rounds. I can convert it back to rimfire in 5 minutes.
