G'day from Downunder [smilie=s:
G'day , my favorite .22 revolver is my S&W model 17 with a 4 inch barrel and target trigger and hammer I just love it .
Regards Paul. :-)
It is a tossup between my 6 inch 17 and my 6 inch 617. Both shoot extremely well.
Hands down, my Ruger single 6!
For revolver, there’s nothing that compares to a SW 17 6”with hogue grip in my opinion. They are just great shooters and are fun for experienced shooter and perfect for teaching new shooters alike. Been shooting mine since Dad taught me with it when I was a boy and now I teach people with it.
Outside of revolvers though, the Ruger Mark IV Hunter SS is a pretty amazing shooter too. Wife’s anniversary present to me last year and it’s a tack driver too. Ends up being a toss up now for which 22 handgun I take anymore between these two.
Honorable mentions 50s era Buffalo 22 revolvers are fun just cause of how cheap they are but not great firearms, Ruger Standard Red Eagle, Ruger Mark I Bull Barrel (as good as MK IV but not as “cool” looking), Buckmark. All have their place and are fun to shoot but the 17 is definitely King of my 22 handguns.
Two …
* Ruger convertible Single Six, old model
* Ruger Mark IV Target
My choice , without a doubt is the S&W model 18 or a model 17 from the same era . All that is dependent on what barrel length you like .
Jack
Race between my M18 and Bearcat. Different horses for different courses, but both make me smile.
It's hard for me to decide. I have a S&W Model 17 with a 6 inch barrel and another 17 with an 8 3/8 inch barrel and target hammer and trigger. I try to give them equal time. Some days I take both to the range.
Me Colt diamondback action job by Jim Fish had it for over 35 years.
Model 18, and Mk IV. But, my K-22 Nd MK I are close seconds.
I have a bunch of .22 handguns, the ones I like the best is Ruger single 6!! I have 5 of them and looking for more!
Not the SP101 that I have. Years ago I had a 617 that was very accurate.
The 5-1/2" Single Six that I gave to my son, and the H&R model 999 top break that I gave to my wife are too much fun. I'm enjoying the Ruger Wrangler lately- not fancy but fun and accurate enough to fill the skillet.
There's a Single Ten here too- but I haven't even fired it. I ought to break it out if it's cool this evening.

Hands down, it's the 1959 S&W Model 17, 4" barrel. It's also the only .22 handgun I own.:(
My favorite is a pre-17 K-22 5 screw 6" . Next is a 617 8 3/8" 6 shot.
1966 Colt Cobra 3"
My absolute funnest to shoot is a 1964 vintage Super Single Six Convertible (adjustable sights). It's been a dependable and accurate companion for lots and lots of years. I literally take it everywhere I go.
The only .22 revolver I own is a Ruger Single Six...so it must be my favorite.
Cannot see buying a better revolver for shooting .22's. I do not hunt with a revolver so I am looking at finding a good quality PCP for pistol plinking. Much less costly to shoot and shooting spinner targets anyway.
