Solid will help prevent air pockets.
I no longer use sticks. I melt the lube and pour it in. Even fewer air pockets that way.
Thanks, btroj
Solid is the way to go if you don't want to melt them first to put the lube in.
I have used the left over lube sticks that I had for the Lyman and they work without any air pockets or problems. They are a 50/50 alox beeswax mixture.
Maybe harder sticks might cause a problem but then again if you have a heater and the temp is at the proper level they should work also in my opinion.
thanks everbody, I just ordered more CR in solid sticks, I've been useing CR from lars in hollow sticks for everything from 9mm up to 44mag and really like it but I get air pockets with the hollow sticks so I'm hopeing the solid sticks will cure the air pockets
I use BAC. Solid sticks solved the air problems.
Veral sent me hollow sticks by mistake. I melted those babies down. I don't get any air pockets when I use solid sticks. Ain't life great ?? Mike
I had a few hollow BAC sticks left. I melted one of them and filled the hollow in the others. No more air bubbles. On my last one of those. Got some new solid sticks waiting to be used now.
