A GOOD paper patch lube that is waterproof??

I'm looking for a PP lube for my hunting loads. I don't want to soak patched boolits in molten Beeswax as Matthews choice is. I also shy from Lee Liquid Alox as accuracy falls off for me. I haven't tried Recluse's 45% 45% 10% and it could work... I have the Rooster jacket that drys hard and seems to shoot OK unless pushed hard; but the water base in it scares me.

This patch lube won't have to pass a long submersion test or anything.... just keep loaded rounds safe from humidity and a few occasional rain drops...

Any thoughts???

I haven't tried it but if you have some SNO-SEAL give it a try..
It'll make your bullets smell prudy also!

Pete, tumble-lube your patched bullets with a liberal coat of 45/45/10 and stand them up on their bases to dry. The Alox as you know is calcium-soap based and virtually waterproof. I've done this and it works. I've also dipped the ends of the finished rounds in 45/45/10 and suspended them by the rims with clothespins to drip-dry, then cleaned the excess off the brass with mineral spirits. That seals just the exposed part of the bullet, patch, and the area around the case mouth.

Aluminum stearate grease is also waterproof, might make a patch lube out of some of that and some wax and smear it on the outside like the Vaseline/beeswax mix.

Paul Matthews also listed a Beeswax/Vaseline mix. I have some 4570 PP boolits that have been coated with it for a good 20 years that are still fine. Good stuff.........

What about pure carnauba paste wax? Wouldn't that do a good job? And, it's what I lube my paper jackets with anyway.

I use car wax.
I lube them to size them, then load.
Works well.

SNO SEAL is a Lanolin Beeswax blend. As for waterproofing, well, I can guarantee it waterproofed my leather riding gear through an 8 hour downpour on the road ;-)

Been using it for several years,applies wet and is a dry film ... see the price has gone up since the Rooster Jacket Company no longer makes it
