90% of my magnum revolver loading these days consists of loads well under SAAMI recommendations. A standard-weight-for-caliber cast plain-based SWC at 900-1000 FPS is a right useful loading, and these do not beat your hands or drill your eardrums...

There is a reason the old target shooters wanted one hole molds. They also marked them to index in their rifles. I see very little if any difference in between the bullets from multi cavity molds from NOE, Accurate and MiHec.

If you are not yet casting, look for a commercial caster who can get softer bullets for you.

With the 357 ammo produced today has to be safe in everything from a Winchester 92 to a Ruger LCP.

The 32 long loves the Lee 90 swc tumbled lubed with 2.5 gr BE. The 32 H&R does better with 2.6-2.7 gr. You cannot see these all the way to the target but almost. Nice 25 yard shooters.

I have a Handi in 7.62x39. It shot steel cased OK. I have a hard time believing a ss rifle could be cheaper than even an MGM contender barrel.

Great idea, Froggie. In the Charter Arms Professional I have throats that go 0.3143" + or - 0.0002". I beagled a 3118 NOE mold and PC'd them then sized to 0.315". I leave the other Ruger SSM bullets at 0.313". I am surprised how well this groups...

I try to cast between 15F and 50F. Higher than that it just gets too warm. Sprues cool better, a quick cadence is easier to maintain and below that it gets cold now that I am older.

I anneal in a dark garage and look for a color change. I use a small drill motor with a 1/4" drive 1/2" deep socket for -06, 08, and x57 brass. When I get the color to a dull red I tip it in the bucket of water. Gloved hand sets the new case in. ...

If you really want to talk about poor products, lets go with arc fault breakers. When I built in 2018 they were mandatory for most circuits in the living area. Took the price of a breaker from $6 to $45. Now you end up running as many outlets as you...

I owned one and if I saw one for that price I would own another. Your palm is the limiting factor on handloads. I think they were meant to carry a lot and shoot occasionally.

Be careful with formulas. Remember that in IPSC the velocity mass calculates that a slow pitched soft ball is more lethal than a 9mm. Respect your quarry. Understand that velocity is the advantage to minimize sight correction but it aids in...

I have a 1950 Marlin in 35 Rem. I shoot a 245 gr Saeco and IMR 4895. Previous owner used the RCBS 250. I think if you keep velocities under 1400 fps you are OK without GC. I wouldn't hunt at that low of a velocity.

We like a 9% to 12% beef fat with our grind. Using fatty hamburger is ok as long as you get the ratios where you want it. Lower fat takes a little longer to cook but still has plenty of flavor for us.
