I dug out my RCBS 45 Auto Rim dies and looking up inside it appears it is a roll crimp. They are from 1977 (old style RCBS with decapper on end of expander). I looked at a LEE 44 Collet style crimp die I have (only straight wall one I have)...

It looks like your best option is to buy the mystery dies. They might just turn out really well! I know the LEE set is probably a mixed set. I've heard of a lot of people using 45 ACP or 45 Auto Rim dies and modifying them as necessary. I have a...

One more option, Buffalo Arms has 455 Webley dies in stock. It's another $20 for the shellholder so about $150 total. https://www.buffaloarms.com/455-webley-mk-iipistol-die-set-4d455webley.html Also, it's shipping from the US as you mentioned...

This is a snip from Huntingtons website with the last part numbers for the Revolver and Auto Dies (probably several years ago, you can find this on their site if you dig). That's about as good as it gets but it does show two different sets. A...

I can’t find that number. There were two different sets for roll vs taper. My bet is they are roll. However, LEE has an Set and Redding. The Redding is in stock at grafs

Did you confirm they are taking orders? I know people who have ordered custom sets in the past. Not sure what the lead time is right now.

The only one I shot was my fathers 577. It was originally Blackpowder but had been nitroproofed at some point. To the detriment of the chambers which were reamed out to accept a 20 gauge brass shell. This worked quite well once you got the case...

I think the the snap you refer to is due to the crazy stiff extractor. Stevegunz recommend thinning it but I thinned it to where I thought I went too far. Then I compared it to a Mirakou extractor and the Mirakou was thinner still. I put the...

People had enough trouble with getting injured with radial arm saws to begin with. Have them make a jig to hold brass, I can't imagine when the brass gets loose where all those case fly! Or the cut ends flying off the blade.

I built a jig with a clamp that I put in my 12” miter saw for trimming brass. With a TCG blade for non ferrous metals it made short work of cutting down cases For case forming. I made so many cases I haven’t used it in years. I cut it a little...

I would use black powder also. Probably FF as well. My father had a Werndl. It was some odd caliber we either formed from 348 Winchester or 43 Spanish. He never had a set of dies for it. I remember shooting it a few times back in the 90s. He...
