There are definitely bears, along with moose to be aware of. It seems the most deaths this year have been from falls. Two weeks ago, two very experienced mountain climbers died. Too many people there for my taste during the summer. I have a nephew...

I use sections of cut off barrels. Use them as scrapers. Around 12" is pretty good to handle. Beware of taking wood from the top of the inletting. You will get false spotting from inletting black. Only remove lower spots until you are sure the fit...

I realized long ago that the Bible tells me to resist Satan and tells me to flee temptation. If I can resist Satan why should I flee temptation? The answer is simple once I realized it - temptation is within me. If I don't want it, it's not...

Been working up powdercoat loads for my 30.06 and 303 British. I have shot nice tight groups with normal lubed and gas checked boolits where the bore riding nose just kisses the top of lands. The same boolit when powder-coated adds +0.006" to the...

I agree on Remoil. It was being used at Montana Rifle Co. when I started working there. We found the same problem, dries out, and doesn't prevent rust. I converted the company to Ed's Red, problems went away.

Considering most of them you get from the bank are pretty pristine, I would sure pass on it. A panhandler lives near me, and goes to town every day to ply his trade. One day I gave him a ride to town for him to go to "work". He had the nerve to...

For your big stuff. The Hollywood Sr steel press - look for $200-500- very much depending on who wants it - collectors will pay more. Shoot some oil on it so it moves easily and add another $100! The Belding and Mull powder measure - if it is...

Collect data - loading manuals will give you lots of options for most calibers/cartridges - until you get into the unusual or obsolete ones. Then I ask someone here who has Quickload for some data for specific boolit/powder combinations, and have...

About waksupi
Somers, Montana, a quaint little drinking village, with a severe hunting and fishing problem.
Firearms and related junk accumulator

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
