You aren't getting it nearly hot enough with your method. Use a vertical tube, stove pipe works well. Sit it in a pan of boiling water, and keep it boiling for 20 minutes, at least. Get some welding gloves or similar and remove the metal from the...

The main sizes that I cast for are 270, 7mm, 30.06, 303 and 8mm. Supply shortages in the present reloading market, made me compromise on the gas check sizes. Firstly I size .303 boolits using an 0.316" die and I found that a 32cal (or 8mm)...

Popped I to a few places today just looking at ammo prices and I gotta say for anything past just burner ammo or if you shoot less then a box a year is still cheaper to reload. I don't shoot anything I can't shoot game with so Heck for an average...

Wayne Smith replied to a thread Jade Knife Scales ? in Our Town
There is true Jade and there is another stone that is close to it but not true Jade. I think true Jade is less brittle than the other stone, but I'm not sure. I know true Jade is more rare.

John, have you handled any knives before? If you are a newbie at this don't start with something brittle or problematic. Get a junk knife or two and practice with some relatively nice hard wood and see how you do. Hand or power tools, and I think...

I'm not sure why you are getting the red rust, unless you are leaving it to cool in the tube. You do need to boil longer, 25 minutes for boiling, 20 minutes if steaming. I usually need to do a half dozen cycles to get a good blue job. When you apply...

Ain't gonna be anymore for sure. Jump on it. Couple years ago, God was looking out for me. I liked my WM 20 gauge 3" LW Magnum so much, I was at Bud's and he had a NIB on hand at the old price so I bought a "spare". With Remington's...

When I still did a garden I had a half barrel of water out where I clean fish. All the scrap would go in the water to brew, heads, skeleton, guts, skin, fins. It made the best tomato food ever!

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
