I appreciate your input. I have a lot of irons in the fire right now but this looks interesting and would be a useful skill. If I can make a powder that will shoot well enough to let me win matches, I'm interested.

So after reading many many pages of this thread..... Can I make a screened powder that will give me similar performance to Swiss? I understand volumes might be different. I shoot 34 and 36 cal muzzleloaders in matches and I haven't found any...

I can swage long 243 bullets but my point forming die is more low drag shape. Is the length more important than the nose shape? PM me if you want to discuss

SK ammo has been very good in my guns. At half the price of Lapua, I get pretty much Lapua accuracy. I really like Center-X but SK Standard Plus will shoot right with it. I also found that the SK High Velocity Match shoots way better than expected...

BadgerShooter replied to a thread Hiking boots in Clothing
Russell Boots in Berlin, WI will make boots to your feet. Not cheap, but they have been doing it for over 100 years here. Rugged, repairable and if they are not right, they will make it right.

In practice, they work quite well. In years of use, I have never had a cap fall off or any of the other things you might think would go wrong. I just won a primitive biathlon race which involves running in snowshoes and muzzleloaders. It ran...

What style of underhammer is it? There are a number of different arrangements and I am by no means an expert on them. I have a Hopkins and Allen kit i put together and love but there are lots of other cool designs out there. I'll be curious to...

A CZ 527 in 6.5 Grendel would be awesome for those requirements. The downside is the horrific prices that are currently being paid for 527's on Gunbroker. I finally saw a new CZ 600 in the rack. I'm glad I already own 550s, 452s and 527's. Its...

Safariland makes some solid holsters for weapon mounted lights. I am super happy with the ALS style retention system. Super rugged and effective field rig. Hard to beat in that category.

I tested some SK High Velocity Match ammo. It shot amazingly well. Not as good as Match standard velocity, but far better than any other high velocity 22 I have shot. I may use it for 100 yard mini palma on windy days. I have two boxes of Lapua...

I won the primitive biathlon with the mold from Gmsharps. Lubed with Crisco over 30 grains of 3F Swiss. Hit 10 of the 12 targets and had the fastest time by 4 minutes. Practice pays off! Thanks for the mold!

Just shot a Primitive Biathlon in 14F temps. Shooting a 36 cal underhammer with Maxi style bullets. After trying a bunch of stuff, at low temps, Crisco works great. Won the match too! During a side match, offhand at 25 and 50, I shot my 34 cal...

At least it's in .358 instead of .355. It wouldn't exist if some states didn't make ill considered rules. If it was rimless, it might be a bit more versatile but having the ability to make it out of 30-30 brass is nice.
